Tintern is a lovely little place, very relaxing and peaceful. It is great for people who like to walk and you can either walk flat along the river Wye or go up into the hills and woods. There were a lot of cyclists about so clearly good for cycling. Tintern Abbey is lovely and worth a look around. The Devil's Pulpit is a steady uphill climb but well worth it on a nice day. It is a very small place and therefore, not much to do if you are staying for a few days, so you may want to travel to other places (the buses seemed very regular) but it is a nice place for a base.

Tintern is a small cozy place with natural beauty, charm, and history. People were very helpful and friendly. It was a perfect short stay to begin our travels in Wales. To make the experience memorable my husband and I brought a copy of the poem "Lines Written a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey" by William Wordsworth to read and contemplate while gazing at the site.

The second hand book shop, Stella and Rose's was great to browse round, 10 rooms with collectors books, a huge array of children's books. Cafes good but a few being refurbished. Tintern Abbey itself a place of interest.

Lovely place to stay, price to enter Abbey should have been halved as more than half was clearly marked on map as not accessible due to scaffolding. People more likely to contribute. Couldn’t understand it. Recommend booking to eat at the Parva Farmhouse

In Tintern having intentionally put a visit to Tintern Abbey on our driving holiday list, and glad we did! The Abbey is much more complex, textured, and larger than you can ever sense from photos. There's a nice little gift shop where you check in, and then you can walk amongst the ruins to see the site from within with all the marvelous angles and perspectives.

I wanted to explore the area for a couple of days and this location was perfect. The flat was clean, very well presented, welcome basket on arrival. Good wifi, lovely views, parking right opposite. 2 pubs in walking distance (a 3rd is being refurbished). Had dinner in the Rose & Crown, very nice, they don't open all day but the steaks were delicious. Also visited the Anchor Inn, by the Abbey, they are open all day and had a full menu. The apartment was spotless, it isn't the biggest property so whilst it has 2 bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room, it would be on the small side for a family if they were spending time indoors.

One of the best selections of hotel breakfast, and very good quality. The renovations have been done sympathetically and with style. The outside space is great, reflecting the architecture of the Abbey and providing great cover and warmth even in wet weather: the garden is lovely. The food is a bit special with inventive dishes - good wine list if a bit pricey like most hotels. The staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable with a good sense of humour. We will go back.

The location was incredible! The photos do not do it justice. 2 minute drive to Tintern Abbey and a lovely pub with a park and field for the kids to play in. All instructions were left for appliances and general things including what to do in the local area. Use of towels, bedding, cleaning products and even cutlery & crockery were perfect and made everything so much easier. It was definitely a home from home and we will be back again.

A lovely old hotel in a beautiful location, perfect for getting away from it all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant one evening and had a very nice meal. The breakfasts were fine, not a huge choice but well cooked. Bedroom and bathroom were extremely clean.

Location was perfect right opposite the wonderful river Wye and a few hundred metres from the stunning Tintern Abbey. Cosy and warm in spite of the Welsh mists and damp. Perfect for one person on a mission at Christmas.
