A small village in Scottish Highlands.

A small village in Scottish Highlands. I'd recommend to have a short stop there if you are going more up North. If you need to stay overnight then you will find several hotels and cabins (for rent). There are a couple of good restaurants and cafes. There is a small shop and a petrol station too.

A good base for exploring the West Highlands or for an overnight stop. There are a couple of good restaurants, a cafeteria and a convenience store. Plenty of places to stay. Not much to see in the village itself, which is tiny, but there a couple of circular walks around.

Location good, hotel clean, but very average food and understaffed bar, kitchen waiters. Struggled to cope with ten people in the dining room meant 45 min wait for one course! Bar prices at London levels!

    6.5/10

6.5/10 Small town, about 3 restaurants, a corner store, gas station, and a pretty good sized gift shop including an outdoors store with some nice stuff. Not much to do, can see how it's just a pit stop for most people.

I have stayed only one night.

I have stayed only one night. It´s a cosy place in the middle of beautiful nature, perfect spot to start a day-long track. I loved the size of the village, location and the little stream. Right on the west highland way and accessible by train as well. There was a shop, and a variety of accomodation possibilities.

Tyndrum has good facilities for the tourist and traveller, with a choice of good eating places and two shops. The location is perfect because you can get in any direction by car, train or bus - this is almost unique in the Highlands and makes it ideal for walkers, sightseers and anyone who enjoys the countryside.
