Lovely area, gateway to The Mournes, easy trip to Carlingford for lunch. Busy that weekend due to Kilbroney Show, tailbacks on wee narrow roads. We ate in The Whistledown hotel and also The Rostrevor Inn. Great food in both

The size of the hotel was just right, not too big so had more of a personal touch from staff, especially Bernie cheerful lady who did a great breakfast for us, also Edele very helpful all the staff were but didn't get all their names. No negatives about the hotel at all.

Warrenpoint is close enough to the Mourne Mountains for those wishing to climb the smaller peaks to gain access but also being beside Carlingford Lough, it can provide a pleasant evening stroll, with fresh maritime air and interesting scenery. There are several coffee shops and takeaways in the town for eating and a hotel and a couple of restaurants for a sit down meal. However, I'm not sure about booking. The town is small enough to walk around and a fairly regular bus service to Newry or to Rostrevor and Kilkeel. The Synge and Byrne cafe in KIlbroney Park, outside Rostrevor, will provide you with a cooked breakfast or great scenery for a coffee after a hard day's walking.

Beautiful location, plenty of space in property for family and guests, fireplace with supply of logs to burn, plus good central heating, beautiful gardens and grounds, BBQ area and walks in vicinity. Bathroom and kitchen look more recent that other parts of property. Close to Warrenpoint for shopping. Overall good value.

The cottage was secluded but nevertheless only a few minutes drive to Warrenpoint. It was very peaceful. The cottage is very spacious with an unusually well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and cutlery. There's a park for children close by.
