This was the nearest cottage with absolutely everything you could possibly need, in it. We plan on it again next year DV. In the little garden you can hear the little stream going by. Even though next to a pub, it is quiet and peaceful. Children and dogs are welcome and catered for. The two rooms and bathrooms are all on the main floor. A dishwasher, washer and dryer. Lovely! A brief, but very nice stay. A warm welcome received at the bar and check in was swift. Both available rooms have outside access up a stone staircase, so one can come and go with ease. Our room was very comfortable. I loved the breakfast bar & high stools. The included Breakfast is continental style and left in the room for guests to enjoy at their leisure. Tasty fresh muffins, breakfast bars, fruit, yogurt and granola. Milk & orange juice can be found in the fridge to accompany the hospitality tray of tea & coffee etc. We left early the following morning so instructions were to leave our key in the key box. So all very efficient.

Everything was perfect! The bed was comfy, pillows comfy. Charming room with vintage luxury feel. Clean and updated shower. INCREDIBLE water pressure. Breakfast in the morning was freshly made and quality food. Very impressed!

The Speech House was everything an old English Inn should be. The food is outstanding, and the staff are so accommodating. It may only be rated as a 3 star hotel, but my stay there really felt like a luxury stay. The location is right in the heart of the Forest with several walks available directly from the hotel. The famous Puzzlewood is just a short 10 minute drive.

Beautiful setting, the room was pretty, clean , and comfortable. Sophia was amazing in communicating for an after hours check in. The breakfast was delicious and the whole stay was perfect. Would stay here again for sure!

This property was great value - clean, comfortable and warm. It is no frills but it was better than expected for the money I paid. I was pleasantly surprised. The member of staff who greeted me was lovely and very very helpful. very quiet too!

I liked the location and the privacy.

I liked the location and the privacy. The purpose of our trip was to unwind, which we achieved. The hot tub was secluded and had six different positions. The sail above the hot tub kept the rain off and provided shade when the sun came out. The bed is a foam mattress and is 4'6". The Velux windows in the bedroom have grey shades you can pull down. There is a separate bathroom with a good shower, a small wall-mounted shaving mirror and a large tub. There is plenty of space upstairs to unpack your things and store your cases. If you want fresh coffee, you must bring your own maker of choice. There is a small freezer compartment in the fridge. It was very obvious the owners put a lot of care and attention to detail into this property. There were many lovely touches all around.

Whitecroft is a small village close to the more well known...

Whitecroft is a small village close to the more well known attractions in the forest, the forest of Dean railway runs through the village and there are some lovely walks close by. The Miners Arms is a lovely pub/ restaurant which is very popular with tourists and locals serving great food at a reasonable price
