The surrounding views from our windows were lovely. The Motel is situated in just the right position for our visit. We have friends in Winchelsea and Rye and it’s also close to Hastings and Tenterden. Also National Trust properties. The question as put means our answer is rather misleading.
The question as put means our answer is rather misleading. We did not have time to explore Winchelsea as we would have liked, but spent much of our time in Rye, a quarter-hour drive away and with enough to keep us busy ind interested for two days. We only scratched the surface of the possibilities of the wider area. In Rye, park as soon as you can in any of the car-parks at the foot of the hill and walk. The garden was the perfect place for an early morning coffee. Absolute bliss... no noise except for bird song and bees. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked - plenty quality pots, pans, etc. Everything is spotlessly clean. Winchelsea itself is an ideal base for some walking/running/swimming - the circular walk to Rye was an ideal way to sped Saturday morning.
