Ushguli is a wonderful city with its stunning nature and historical beauty, perfect for resting after long trekking and hiking adventures. Tamar Castle is a must-visit spot. Located at the upper part of the city, it’s reached via a scenic path intertwined with a dried-up riverbed. The view of the city from the castle is breathtaking. Additionally, vibrant wildflowers along the mountains add a colorful charm to the city’s atmosphere. After a 6-day hike, we arranged a taxi back to Mestia with help from the facility where we stayed. Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location. Quite simply a dream. It deserves time spent here. More than a day trip. You can hike. You can sit and soak up the unforgettable views. Wandering through Ushguli is like stepping back in time. We stayed for two nights and it was quite simply one of the top highlights of our travels to date. Our mistake: not staying longer. Authentic beautiful mountain village. Definitely recommend. But it is cheaper to get there then to return from it to Mestia. You can go hiking to Shkhara glacier by foot or take a horse for half a way.Guest review byPolinaRussia
