We stayed in the very comfortable harbor area of Aegina Town. Just a 40-minute ferry from Athens' Pireaus port. Ancient sites to visit. Lots of harbor restaurants for beverages and dining. A relaxing way to settle in from international travel before our extended tour of Athens and the Peloponnese tour. Great city with very nice and inviting streets to browse around, shop, lunch/dinner places. Aegina has also a very pittoresk port area with lots of opportunities having a drink and enjoying the view to the fishing boats and yachts. The water front is much the same as many port town island...
The water front is much the same as many port town island fronts. Vibrant and lively with restaurants, bars and cocktail/ice-cream parlours. The large marinas are full of small fishing boats, large fishing boats, flotilla holiday yachts, luxury yachts and flying dolphins. Aegina is the home to the best pistachio nuts in the world and they are on sale everywhere, that and local honey. One street back from the front is where the gift shops are and more restaurants. In theory the back streets are pedestrianised, but scooters wizz through them, so take care, particularly at intersections, they don't slow down. A colorful and vibrant island, with beautiful shops and excellent restaurants. Like everywhere in Greece, the locals are friendly, and the atmosphere is wonderful. When booking the ferry, pay attention—there are two ports on the island: one is the main port, and the other is secondary. The main port brings you closer to the livelier, more touristy area. In any case, even if you arrive at the other port by mistake, you can easily take a taxi or a bus to the other side of the island.Guest review byLeviaIsrael

The AC didn’t work the first night and the receptionist had it fixed right away the next day. We also got really helpful tips to explore the island. The bed was a bit hard. Being so close to the port was very convenient. The only down side is the noise of the ships and the playground in front of the hotel. Beautiful and stylish boutique hotel, the room and the bathroom were very clean, we had a balcony where we could have our morning coffee. The staff was very kind and helpful during all of our stay. Buffet breakfast good and abundant. Perfect location, just 5 minutes walk from the peer and the main street with the restaurants, but also quiet, so perfect to rest.
