Go when not so crowded or hot. We did well at end of September. I highly recommend if you have a car to do a free Olive Oil tour & tasting at OILYPIAN Koufolias Olive Oil Mill about 15 min away from town. I also loved OLYBEEA for family run local honey which you may sample before you buy! Have a meal up the hill (you can walk but best with car) at The Garden :) You will dine under olive trees & get a great view. Olympia town is quite small but has some very nice tavernas, cafes and ice cream shops mostly under shady trees. The Main Street has a string of souvenir shops, some of which are quite stylish. Amazing archeological site and museum.
Amazing archeological site and museum. The town is very nice, quiet, with a lot of shops and restaurants. I booked an entry at 5PM and the site and museum were not crowded. I would recommend that for a better experience. Stays open until 8pm so plenty of time.Guest review byshirlUnited States - 10

The site itself and the museum were superb.
The site itself and the museum were superb. Best of all on November 15 we had it almost to ourselves with not a tour group in sight. We had the room with the pediments and Hermes all to ourselves. I have visited a dozen times over the past 35 years and always to share the treasures with large groups. We ran on the stadium and there was only 3 other people there. AmazingGuest review byAnonymous
