This is a surprisingly interesting town with wonderful 19th century neo classicle architecture. one can spend days exploring. Ano Syros is also surprisingly pretty. We loved our swim at Asteria Beach close by after walking close to 500 steps to visit the Venetian style alleys of Ano Syros. beautiful, clean, mixture of old and new, marble streets and historic merchants houses, plenty of good restuarnts and cafes and nice shopping area with everything you could need on tap. Nice little marble/cobbled streets, on the flat around the harbour and shops and then a bit steeper to get to the theatre and church. Found a fab terrace for a cocktail at posh hotel La Ploues.
