We went to use Florina as a base for visiting Lake Prespa and the national park. Ideal for that. Florina is very much a Greek working town and doesn't seem to do a lot for tourism. Tavernas were excellent although be aware many are shut on Mondays. Signage in the town could be better. We only found the centre by accident on our last night.Guest review byKenUnited Kingdom - 10

Loved the lush green mountains. So picturesque! Amazing after coming from dry Thessaloniki and Athens. An author would have great inspiration to write a work of fiction. the walk along the river was gorgeous with the restaurants and coffee shops. There is also the 'market" where you can get fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, and many household items, as well as clothing, every Wednesday and Saturday. So glad I got to go. A beautiful villa, with comfortable beds, TVs in each room, spacious beautiful bathrooms. The food was delicious! Lots of variety at the breakfast buffet and dinner at the hotel was excellent as well. The hosts and staff were all so helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, with a supermarket and wine bar directly across the street, and cafes and restaurants a short walk away. It was wonderful that the hostess herself met us and showed us the apartment. There is a heating system, which is important in winter. Comfortable beds in bedrooms. There are cafes and supermarkets nearby. Plenty of public free parking spaces. We always parked without problems. Great place to visit Florina or go skiing in Vigla.
