The town has two coves used as harbours.
The town has two coves used as harbours. The yacht marina has many restaurants and pubs. There are several expensive hotels in the town and a few less expensive ones, as well as shops and a pharmacy. It is a charming, small town with many streets for walking by the sea. An Orthodox church stands tall above the town. which itself has a very long history, dating back to the 8th century BC. This place is absolutely charming. There are a number of small beaches right across from the village, many with a shower, changing cabin and umbrella. A picturesque old town that has maintained its character (unlike nearby places like Itea). There is not a lot to do; a couple of days would suffice for Galaxidi; however, you can use it to explore the area. For example the orqacle of Delphi is 30 mins away. Arachova is not far. Nafpaktos abotu 40 mins away. So Galaxidi is a great place to use as a base. In Galaxidi itself there are plenty of good restaurants and tavernas as well as bars and coffee places. It is a beautiful little hotel so well located in Galaxidi, beautiful vue, divine terrasse, adorable bedroom, lots of charm, peaceful. We learned a lot about the town by chatting with the owner of the hotel which made the stay even more interesting. We loved our daily evening aperitif on their terrace.
