The beach is lovely - sandy and not too busy.
The beach is lovely - sandy and not too busy. The sea is clean and perfect temperature for snorkelling, swimming or playing in. About half the beach has sunloungers on it but there is space to also play sports or just sit away from other people. There are lots of places to visit from Kalamaki - Matala beach with its caves, ancient Phaistos, Zaros lake and Rouvas gorge, Agia Galini is not far if you want to take boat trips. Kalamaki has a really good supermarket and lots of restaurants even though it is a small place. Lots of different nationalities of holidaymakers. It is a really nice, relaxing place. The bar serves delicious coffee, which you can sip on the beach. There was always hot water in the shower, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly. The beds were very comfortable. The room was cleaned regularly, fresh towels and bed linen were changed regularly.
