What a wonderful hotel! A beautifully fitted out room; good quality materials and finishes throughout; comfortable bed; and only a short walk to the beach. Everything was perfectly clean. Marilena and her team do a fantastic job of looking after you, of making your whole experience good. And to top it off, the breakfast is a feast!

The hotel is super clean, we weren’t able to use the pool area, but staff was super kind and the breakfast was great. So many options and plenteous. Fun walk down to the beach in the evening and over to the old town area for a relaxing dinner. Wish we had more Tim at the property and in Agia galini!

It was nice that it had wifi, free parking (is like 2 minutes walk), the common kitchen and washing-machine were useful and the hostess was verry reasonable. It has a close super-market and tavernas that are close to walk by. And of course the good AC.

    Kalamaki Beach is generally well-sheltered compared to other beaches on the south coast of Crete. However, it can still get breezy, especially in the afternoons when the meltemi (northern summer wind) picks up. That said, the wind is usually mild and refreshing—not disruptive—making it pleasant for sunbathing and swimming.

    A small, quiet, typical tourist settlement - the beach, shops and several good restaurants. A large number of cats in the entire area, but it was not bothersome. 15-20 minutes drive to two towns where there is a weekly market and a larger variety of shops.

    The beach is lovely - sandy and not too busy.

    The beach is lovely - sandy and not too busy. The sea is clean and perfect temperature for snorkelling, swimming or playing in. About half the beach has sunloungers on it but there is space to also play sports or just sit away from other people. There are lots of places to visit from Kalamaki - Matala beach with its caves, ancient Phaistos, Zaros lake and Rouvas gorge, Agia Galini is not far if you want to take boat trips. Kalamaki has a really good supermarket and lots of restaurants even though it is a small place. Lots of different nationalities of holidaymakers. It is a really nice, relaxing place. The sunsets from the beach are incredible

    Kalamaki is a great little beachfront town with a good selection of restaurants, a supermarket, and a few characterful shops. Ideal for us, but don't visit if you're looking for bright lights and nightlife.

    Our days in Nefeli were amazing. We stayed in a beautiful room with sea view, clean and really confortable. There is also a common kitchen that was very useful. The best part of our stay was the attention recieved from Manoussos. He was really kind and he always offered a good chat with raki or coffee. He provided us vital information about Kalamaki and surroundings but, what is better, he reminded us important things of life. Thanks for all dear friend, hope we meet again. Ana and Tomas

    If you do not mind freezing temp with zero heating despite single glazed windows & just painted rough concrete on ceilings in otherwise very basic room, you should be fine - just keep in mind that the "Katherina rooms" sign got overgrown with vegetation and is unvisible, so go check behind the bushes

    The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. They were most helpful in arranging taxis for us whenever needed. Just €15 & 15 minutes to Matala. The hotel and facilities were immaculately clean and well presented. Quiet and pleasant location.
