A pleasant beach resort when you need to get away from the madness of Fira and Oia. It has everything you expect a beach resort to have. The buses to visit the rest of the island are cheap and easy to use. The taxis are extortionate. A huge selection of tavernas and bars to try. However, I wish the restaurant owners would just let you read the menu before they pounce to try and lure you in. Choosing a restaurant for dinner was simply exhausting in dealing with pushy (but charming!) owners. Third time to the island of Santorini. Twice to Kamari. Beautiful beach. Amazing atmosphere. Spoilt for choice for restaurants and things to do. Can be as high or low budget as you wish. The beach is fine, enough place for everyone, but I would not stay there longer than one day beacause the sand is only on the beach and when you enter the sea there is only lava. It was interesting experience, but I would definitely not recommend especially if you are travelling with children - it is very slippery and it is easy to fall down and hurt yourself on a rock. Kamari is great to visit.
Kamari is great to visit. Nothing is too far, you can get the local buses to Fira, or the airport. I went on a full day tour and visited most places such as pyrgos, tharisia island, hot springs, volcano, Oia for sunset. All very beautiful. You have to trek the scenic view from Oia to Fira- one of the best walks in the world! Every place I ate was delicious. Never had a disappointing meal.Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - 10

Lots of lovely tavernas and bars. The locals are really friendly. Take beach shoes as the pebbles can be painful under foot. Be careful to find out where the rocks in the sea are slippery. The beach closer towards the rock (The Hook Bar end) has a safer entrance to the sea. Dimitris Greek night is great fun, there is an open air cinema close by, too! Great reviews. The two pools were nicely organised, one being more family-oriented the other for plunge but big enough for a short swim. The hotel is really attractive and in keeping with the style of Santorini. Staff is the best, so warm and welcoming, we felt like we were staying at home.
