I will start with the tricky things, just to get them out of the way: if you have problems navigating steps, unfortunately this place is not for you. It is on a hill and everything is on separate levels with steps to navigate in-between. If you are alright with steps, then don't hesitate, just book it. You won't regret it. Let me tell you about the views: they are endless. You can see all the valley with olive and vines plantations, dotted villages, down to Heraklion, the sea and the island of Dia as well as the mountains to the East. No picture I could've taken would have done it justice. Then the villa itself. It is close enough to Kato Asites where you'll find everything you need (food, shops, coffee shops), but separated enough to have complete privacy. You are surrounded by nature and it was wonderful for us to just be there and watch the birds, the insects, the plants doing their thing whilst we were recharging our batteries. The house has everything you need for comfortable living and a well equipped kitchen. It's clean and it's well organised. On another level there is a bbq area. It has everything it needs. Another level down an infinity pool where you can just sit and enjoy the views whilst cooling in the water. There is also a seating area there and sun loungers. Another level down and there's an area you can use for a picnic, another level down a nice area for a coffee. It has an abundance of places to sit and enjoy the marvellous views. Now, the owner, Stelios, he is always a phone call/text away for any questions, for anything you need. He does not intrude and comes to clean/check the pool every few days, but never without arranging with you in advance. He is very welcoming, generous and on hand to help with anything, but always mindful of your privacy. A wonderful host. We felt welcomed, we felt safe, it was a wonderful place to be in and we are looking forward to going back there soon.

It is the ideal place to live on vacation. The tranquility of an authentic Cretan village makes you feel good after a day of beach, tasty food and walks around the beautiful island. The apartment is very nice, equipped with everything you need to have a pleasant vacation. The kitchen is equipped with enough crockery. The bedroom is cool with a very comfortable double bed. The hosts Wilma and Philip are very discreet and always ready to help you with information about places to visit. Just ask and they give you the best opinions. Probably the first place where we stayed where the reality exceeds the property photos. This is a gem! Beautiful, tastefully restored little house in a quiet remote village which is really close to Heraklion by car, just in 10 minutes you suddenly find yourself in a different world than the touristy seashore, a piece of traditional, rural Crete. But be aware, you do need a car - which is cheap to rent in Crete anyway. The owners left some tasty local products for us (honey, butter, marmalade, some bakery product, olive oil, even raki!) so we didn't have to care about the first breakfast. There is a place to park just in front of the house which is very convenient. (Don't be shy on the narrow streets that leads there, the car will fit).

The village is very nice and rather authentic.

The village is very nice and rather authentic. People are very friendly and say 'hello' (in Greek) if you pass them by. There are some nice taverna's, but in one we had a bad experience, although the taverna is judged by others as very good. The area has some nice other villages and Heraklion is close and deserves a visit, especially the Archeological Museum. By the way, the photograph shows the village Agios Myronas, seen from a balcony in Kato Asites.

We loved The place in the midlle of hills, The view to the sea side, Good point for travels around Heraklion area. It was quiet at night and The food was amazing. Breakfast served every morning too much options, we really ate a lot, since everything was good. For dinner we had a choice to choose a dish every day and they cooked only for us. Really friendly and serving.

Fantastic views and quiet location!

Fantastic views and quiet location! Very clean house and pool. Amazing restaurant within walking distance and small supermarket also. Definitely need a car to see more of the island but a stunning place to stay if you like a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle.
