A lovely town - definitely tourist central (main source of income) but there is so much more than "downtown" madness lol - Take a long walk to Turtle Island (go early to get your spot on the small beach, entrance fee of around Euro6). Hike the side roads admiring the olive trees and farm animals. Rent a quad or car and explore further afield. Tour pickups are readily available. The food, coffee and drinks are delicious and within reason depending on what you care to spend - LOVED the icecream cafe close to the beach and there is a delightful European Bakery to enjoy fresh cream or chocolate yummies. Almost everyone is friendly - like everywhere, if you smile and 'ask" courteously, in return you will receive a positive response! A week is a good stop - 10days if you are wanting to spend more time lounging on the northern beaches. A worthwhile happy stop :)Guest review byDEBORAHCanada - 10
Laganas is a great area.

4 days are enough to see everything the island has to offer. 5 days can be also nice but not more. Definitely go for the boat trips to the shipwreck and the local blue caves, also the turtle island Marathonisis and the Keri caves. Highlights of the trip. Don't eat in Laganas, search for grill restaurants on the inside of the island... you won't regret. Laganas looks better at night than during the day, but has a very relaxed atmosphere and locals are very friendly. Suggest going at end of season if you aren’t into the party scene. Laganas beach has lovely clean sea and clean sand. Laganas has a great selection of restaurants and plenty of souvenir shops which aren’t all full of tat. Plenty of pharmacies and medical assistance is available if necessary. Do yourself a favour and hire scooters from George on the main strip and explore the island on them - the most unforgettable sense of freedom and fun!Guest review byLangridge - 8.0
Laganas is definitely the place to meet people.
Laganas is definitely the place to meet people. I went towards the end of season which suited me just fine as I still considered it busy. There's plenty of places to eat and drink. Police are always on the strip at night, and the place generally feels safe. In my opinion the better beach if further up in the next town but its in walking distance so that's fine I feel like there's something for everyone here. I like Latin American music so really enjoyed Cubaneros. I also liked Carpe Diem and Tasos for food. The view is stunning and the comfort of having everything you need around it is a 10! It’s a place to relax, it’s not close to the strip in Laganas (however close enough if you want a bit of noise) which makes the experience even more enjoyable if you’re looking for a good spot to relax. The hotel offers boat rentals, tours, car and quad rentals. All at your service and easy access. Private driver if you need transportation and a smile at all times! We had a suite and it's the same as the picture, pretty and clean. Good taste of decoration and a spacious terrace. They have cleaning service and coffee every day(room with coffee machine). We can park our car outside on the street for free and it's safe. It's also near the beach and Laganas main street, walking distance around 3-5min.
