Really gorgeous, quite substantial town with lots of very nice shops and restaurants. There is a beach just out of town which I didn’t visit so can’t comment on that. We went on the Odysseus boat trip which was excellent. This is a great place if you like boats. A hire car is needed if you want to get to the excellent beaches to the west and south. Family own and operated, very attentive and accommodating to your needs. It’s a nice place to visit, but to come back a second time, you probably need to be a kite or windsurfing enthusiast - there’s a lot of wind almost all the time. The surfing places seemed quite busy, though. If you're traveling with kids, be aware that sandy, shallow beaches are rare; most have stones and aren't ideal for easy water access. The few nice beaches that do exist are often difficult to reach, either by car or on foot, and all of them charge for umbrellas and chairs. Touristic cruises around the nearby islands can be a fun activity. However, traffic can be a real challenge - narrow streets, aggressive car and scooter drivers, and limited parking in the cities make getting around stressful.Guest review byNikolayBulgaria - 10.0

Lefkada is a gorgeous island with amazing beaches. Egremni and Kathisma are a dream! Apart from the famous beaches, it is also worth seeing other, more remore shores. Lovely little Town with nice shops and Tavernas. Main street and square lively in the evenings. Lots of choices of food and drinks. We loved the Lighthouse down a side street and all the places in the main square were good. Indigo was excellent for breakfast and lovely staff. The western beaches are awesome!
The western beaches are awesome! We visited Egremni, Kathisma, and Avali. Parasailing from the mountaintop down to Kathisma beach is highly recommended. Libre Beach Bar on Kathisma is highly recommended. Food and service was excellent. Beach beds/umbrellas were Euro20 for the set and included water and ice and If you arrive early in the day you can get parking included as well. We stayed in Lefkada town and having walking access to so many tavernas along the water and the downtown pedestrian zone was nice but parking was also a problem. I loved that they had their own parking right next to the villa. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and very cozy. Also the pool garden was so relaxing, we used it almost everyday after the beach. A lot of nice beaches are within 20-30 mins drive.
