Is like HOME;George,the owner is an amazing man,very friendly,helpful and kind. the location is EXCEPTIONAL;is near to everything especially to Saint Efraim Monastery. George is such an inspiration person,full of energy of positivity and joy.He makes you to feel part of the family. He picked up me from the Athens airport and in the next day he dropped me to Saint Efraim Monastery. You will love the VILLA GEORGE,such a clean and worn house. definitely will come back here and I recommend to everyone . staying to VILLA GEORGE was an incredible experience and I won a friend:GEORGE

From the moment we arrived at the apartment in Nea Makri, we felt genuinely welcomed. The host was incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive—always available if we needed anything. One moment that really stood out was when she offered us a ride into the city, just out of pure kindness. That level of care isn’t something you come across often, and it made our stay feel more like visiting family than booking accommodation. What impressed us even more was her honesty and desire to help us save money. When we mentioned we were thinking about staying an extra day, she encouraged us to rebook through Airbnb so we could get a better rate. That little gesture spoke volumes about how much she values her guests’ comfort and overall experience. The apartment itself was stunning—fully renovated, spacious, and filled with natural light. The design was inspired by Greek island life, with calming earthy tones, beautiful artwork, and a refreshing breeze that flowed through the space when we opened the windows. It felt peaceful and serene, like a true escape. The living room had a massive 75-inch smart TV that was perfect for cozy nights in, and every bedroom also had its own smart TV, which was a great touch. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with everything we needed, including an espresso machine and welcome snacks that made us feel instantly at home. We were especially impressed by the water filters installed throughout the apartment—not only for drinking but in the showers too. It’s not something you find often, and it made a real difference. Having a washer and dryer was also a huge plus, especially for longer stays, and the high-speed Wi-Fi was flawless throughout the home. One of our favorite features was the complimentary use of two mountain bikes. We took them down to the beach, which is less than a kilometer away, and also explored some beautiful nearby trails.     There are several very good restaurants with various and delicious dishes close to the property. It is possible to enjoy a smashing sunset from the balcony (which was extremely spacious). All in all it is a great value for the money.

    The Nea Makri harbour area was a lovely place to pass time...

    The Nea Makri harbour area was a lovely place to pass time with great restaurants and bars. Several beaches which are functional rather than destinations. It was a 5 minute walk from our property to one of the small beaches. Judging by the people we encountered, Nea Makri is used by locals rather than tourists. Closing the harbour road at dusk to turn it into a promenade makes it a great place to people watch. We struck up several conversations with friendly locals.

    A beautiful destination near Athens, so it can be used as a great base. It is bordered by a nice beach with beautiful mountains behind, so it is suitable for both swimming and mountain hikes with beautiful views.

    I mostly liked that you can be in real greek society. It was different experience compared to the places which attract the foreign tourists. It was nice and quiet area with everything you need for the vacation - beach, tavernas, coffee shop, local bakery, outdoor cinema, children payground.

    Beautiful place, very friendly people. Very clean everywhere and seems super organised and calm. The sea is so clear and clean. As well as the beaches. Lots of little tourist spots to see too. Highly recommend. Will definitely make it a regular trip.

    Nea Makri is an economic destination: If you have only a few...

    Nea Makri is an economic destination: If you have only a few days for vacation in Greece, business in Athens or friends to meet there while also being at the seaside, it is a reasonable place to go. Fish tavernas are as good as anywhere else, the beach of Schinias is nice and the museum of Marathonas of course worth a visit.

    The hotel has an excellent location in front of the sea, the basic problemis that the hotel is rather old and a bit tired although extremely clean , our basic issue was that the bathroom was very basic and not too comfortable, no hot water whilst we were there so showering wasnt ideal.Nice balconies. The gardens were immaculate, the breakfast choice was better than i expected and a nice size pool but looked a bit dirty, we didnt use it...I would stay agaiin for a one night stay but not for more than that.

    Great location, like a old times neighbour. its just a walking distance to gas station, supermarket, tavern, bakery, park, church etc. Great neighbour for romantic walks, hearing the birds singing and smelling the flowers, very close to the beach. Only 5 minutes car drive away is Nea Makri that you can find restaurants, shops, pharmacies… everything!
