Small village with some very nice restaurants. The people were friendly and we booked a car at local rental shop. They were cheap, professional and very helpful. They even came to our villa to pick up the car. Only 9 minutes from airport but you could not hear any planes. Villa on a hillside and if you suffer from any heart condition it is tough going walking from villa into village. Swimming Pool not heated we were unable to use it as it was so cold. My fault I did not enquire about heated pool before I booked. No local information material provided about taxi, restaurants etc so do your research before going. Pyrgos is a lovely traditional Greek village with very friendly locals. It gets busy at certain times when the cruise tours visit. A steep walk up to the castle & church is worth it for the amazing views. The little supermarket sells most things you would need. Manos gave us a plenty of good tips and he was always available to help, we’re very thankful as it was our first time visiting there. The house itself was convenient, really in centre of Santorini. They’re plenty of things happening around/in Pyrgos but still the location was hidden with the view of wineyard😍 Everything was there: fridge, pots, iron etc. We loved spending time on the terraces- we highly recommend it!
