We had a lovely stay at Minoa Palace! The staff was kind and welcoming and provided great service and nice little perks like an anniversary cake and a free bottle of wine, and a little gift when you check out. The breakfast and dinner buffet was overall really great! We spent a lot of time at the pool, and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There are a lot of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and a bus stop right outside the resort, making it easy to go to Chania or in the other direction to Kissamos. The room was fairly basic but nice and all we needed, and the bed was very comfortable.

We went during school holidays so it was pretty busy but the tourist high street was quiet during the day while everyone was on the beach. The food was excellent. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach bars were also good. The Cretans were very friendly and helpful. Crete has plenty of interesting sites to visit both inland and on the coast. We would happily return.

Plataniás is bustling - very busy full of shops (which are great) and restaurants. There are, unfortunately, too many places serving chips with everything! We wish there had been some more options, i.e. rice, authentic Cretan dishes, taverna based meals, but it is what it is. There was no need for a car - most places were walkable. Our villa was amazing, but we would not return to Plataniás - it seemed to have dropped down a notch since our trip last year. We saw quite a few young (and older) men walking around shirtless and some girls dressed quite inappropriately. I'm not a prude, but it made the area far less salubrious than it should be.

I don't usually like touristy places but Platanias had a lovely feel about it. Not too many people, although this may have been because we went in September. We visited the War Museum - definitely worth it. Also went to John the Hermit cave and monastery at Kissimo which were unbelievable. Beach was great and snorkeling trip fantastic and well looked after.

It’s a great location with its own beach, but also a short driving distance to other fantastic beaches such as Falasarna, Elafonisi, Balos. A lot of food options. Not so much clubbing or night life.

This is the best apartment I've ever stayed in during my trip to Europe. The host is the most enthusiastic and friendly person I've ever met. She prepared everything I needed for me! Everything in the apartment is so perfect - clean and big beds, beautiful gardens and a sunny living room. It's only a few steps away from the beach. Living here is definitely a good start to your trip to Crete!

I loved everything about my stay here. I loved my room, the buffet was great at breakfast and dinner, the staff were friendly. It was all very well maintained. I liked that it was a good-sized hotel but not too big. I appreciated the gym being easy to use. It was all just the relaxing treat I needed. Just 30 minutes from Chania airport too.

The whole trip in this fabulous hotel was AMAZING! Dimitris took care of every little thing to make the trip comfortable and remembered. Rooms are exactly like on photos, the place is very calm, no stress and noise. The hotel is based out of Chania - and it was the best solution to stop there - no crowds, best beach. Will come back 100%
