There isn't really much to Rio.
There isn't really much to Rio. It used to be where the ferries crossed to go to the North of Greece. The area to the right of the bridge as you go down has many restaurants and bars along the beach and the locals go swimming there a lot. On the other side to the left of the bridge there are again many nice restaurants and bars. One of the restaurants we went to was perfect. The Nafto oikos. They were fully booked but found a table for us by the kitchen and the food was exceptional. Rio is great if you are visiting Patras or on a stopover. A good place to stay, especially if you're visiting the University. All amenities within reach, with local tavernas and other shops usually within walking distance.
