Its very busy and the traffic is hectic ( as is everywhere in Bali). Its a younger persons place as plenty of parties and activities. Canggu is a party place more than sightseeing. The beach close is quite nice (also for surfing) and in the night you can go close to the beach to visit some bars and clubs. The vibe is constantly there. You can also join some local hostel events and meet people there which is nice. The whole island is a 3rd world nightmare best suited for influencers and hipster plebs from around the world who enjoy being served upon by those living just above poverty. Canggu has a nice mix of things for every age group. It has wonderful cafes (Milk and Madu), beach clubs (La Brisa), restaurants (Longtime; Lulu’s), clubs and bistros (Margaret bistro). There’s also yoga, fitness and spas. It ticks all the boxes. Just be mindful when ordering salads, vegetable juice or iced drinks from certain places, as the tap water is not potable. It is also a short distance away from Seminyak (which has a lot of shopping; our kid loves places like Stroberi, Kids à gogo and Candyland).Guest review byAnonymous - 10

Canggu has everything I look for in a Bali trip. Great waves for surfing cool beach clubs all-day cafés amazing food and some of the best spas I have ever tried. The vibe is laid back but still full of life. Everything is super close so you can walk or ride a bike and never get bored. One minute you are in a quiet rice field the next you are in a trendy restaurant or catching sunset at the beach. I had been in Bali for a month switching between hotels and guest houses. The Hideaway provides the best of both worlds. Exceptionally clean and well maintained, it is walking distance of a few good cafes and the beach. There's ample parking for motorbikes. I like the fact that the room had both a fan and air conditioning. It's such a nice environment - quiet and away from the noise of the traffic. I even got a free massage because they liked my energy :) The hotel is very secluded from all the noisy bars and clubs in Canggu, but close to all the best restaurants and cafes.
