Wow! I wish I could give this more stars!! We had a fantastic time with Jackie and his family staying on the Komodo Island 🤩 We would really recommend this for anyone wanting to see the island at a more leisurely pace. The room was lovely - there was a fan, a comfy bed and it was right on the water front of the village. Jackie and his wife were wonderful hosts and within the price you get 3 delicious meals a day! Jackie also organised for us to take a local boat with a local captain to see Manta Point/Pandar/pink beach - he's a local ranger so he took us around Komodo Nation Park (and even his own village) where we saw loads of Komodo dragons. We loved his stories and he spoke excellent English! It was the best experience we had in Indonesia so far ❤️ Some tips that we learnt: There is a public boat but it only leaves on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. It's from the fish market on Labuan Badjo (if you go there the locals are really helpful). We paid 100k each. It leaves at 11am but we arrived at 9am - there are no seats so be ready to sit on the floor. It's a busy boat so we were squished like sardines. The boat takes around 4 hours and is loud but there was a toilet onboard. The return boat leaves on Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday back to Labuan Badjo. If this isn't something you're interested in, speak to Jackie as he'll arrange collection and drop off with you for a reasonable price (and it can work around your schedule). It's totally worth staying on the island - the views are amazing! Best sunset we've seen! You also see waaayy more dragons near the village than at the National Park (and there aren't many people) The boat Jackie organised for us was 2 million for the whole day! The captain knew exactly where to find the Manta rays and even came swimming with us. It was lovely to see the sights on our times so would highly recommend this :) we did the national park on the same day to only purchase the ticket once!

Amazing, clean, and comfortable homestay and super nice and extremely helpful host. The host is a ranger, and he knows everything about the komodo dragons and the area.The village was the best place to see them! There were many and they were big and active. Erjun, the host, will take the best pictures for you. He knows where to find them and how to deal with them. I also went with him to Komodo Park, where all the tours from Labuan Bajo come to see them. It wasn't even half as good as the village. In my opinion, to get the best experience and the feel of the authentic, local live, it's best to stay in his homestay and organise the trips with him. He will also take you to other places like Pink Beach, Padar Island, snorkelling with Mantas, and more. I have to mention that the food was provided for all day and it was delicious. And Erjun will help with boat transfers. He picked me up from the port and dropped me in on time. He sent me detailed information about what boat to take from Labuan Bajo and from what Port. He even sent me a picture of the boat to make it easier. Top class service!!! Also, a big bonus is that the property has internet. Thank you very much, and best wishes!

We had an amazing time at the homestay, we feel welcomed and part of the local community. Despite this experience may be out of your comfort zone and the village may be noisy at night or a little dirty with plastic, we really recommend it because we experienced one of the most beautiful moments of our trip to Indonesia that we will always carry in our hearts! The homestay is located in a small village in komodo island. We stay in a building at the second floor and we share the apartment with a local family that cooked good food for us. The rooms were simple but confortable with fan. The bathroom has a proper toilette and a shower. Jhojo paid a lot of attention to all our needs and he was very kind, friendly and speaks a very good english. He brought us to the best spots in Komodo National Park at the best time to avoid the crowd of tourists. Moreover he taught us how to live side by side with komodo Dragons, which live on the island! For the trip during the day we used a local boat, contributing to all the village economy, and we very appreciate this. We had an amazing time together and hope to come back one day!

Do not book your boat tour, book this instead ! The host, Mr Jahiding, will be your tour guide. Everything is settled the moment you land in Labuan Bajo. A car will be there waiting to bring you to the harbour and a boat is chartered just for you to Komodo island and back. If you need a quick getaway and want the best wildlife and scenic experience, this is what you need. Komodo Village has one of the friendliest people you can ever meet. They are extremely welcoming and treat you just like family. The itinerary for your stay is so much better than the boat tours where so many activities are packed within your short stay on the boat. Living like a local, you can decide how long you spend snorkelling with the manta rays or just sitting by these prehistoric dinosaurs in the komodo national park (komodo dragons). During my stay, I managed to play football with the locals which was an experience on its own. The locals are so friendly that one of them even invited me to his personal home for a meal which was so heart warming. I was lucky enough to be invited to join the men to go on a spearfishing trip in the middle of the night which is not something your tour agencies can offer. Not to mention, I also caught my own dinner on my second day during snorkelling at one of the most remote beaches in the world. Doubt your tour boat allows for that. Everyone should experience this at least once and I would reccomend a good length of stay would be 4D3N which is perfect but 5D4N for the ultimate Komdo experience. Look for Mr Jahiding and I am confident he will make your experience here even better than mine. He speaks great english so communication was not an issue. You will enjoy the best and most delicious local food cooked by your very own home chef too (his wife). A very sad departure but I am confident I will be back. Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay. The family who hosted us was very kind and helped arrange a local boat to take us to different beaches and snorkeling spots that were absolutely gorgeous (like manta point and pink beach). The host is a ranger at Komodo National Park and gave us a wonderful tour. It was very special to stay in the Muslim village on the sea and have a glimpse of life there. Everyone was very friendly and warm.

Nice people, good food, interesting place

Probably the best house reef we’ve experienced. Nice rooms, excellent foods, kind staff. Great diving with Neptune! A big thanks to all the staff for a wonderful experience

Property was lovely and quiet, in residential area. Really having own transport would be handy but taxis were reliable and reasonable prices. Would highly recommend for family or couples travelling together. Had 2 double bedrooms with ensuites, large kitchen and living area, and the pool was beautiful.
