The area he’s like Bali 40 years ago. You are better off staying at a resort on the northern end of the beach, they are beautiful clean and with excellent food and staff, and away from the mosque. Eco Taste, Dimpil Beach Bar, Wrung Rama, The Sage excellent places to eat with cheap healthy fresh food. the town was pretty dead and that's what we liked most - chilled out. cost of everything is about 30% cheaper than Canggu for the same or better food/coffee/etc. We ate at Eco-Taste, The Sage, Lakawi and none disappointed. We also regrettably ate at a warung that made very white-washed Indonesian food -- It was some of the worst food we've had in Bali but it didn't stop the place from being packed with old white tourists - to each their own. In general, it's diving/snorkeling and the same vibe but not touristy like Amed. It's a part of Bali that still hasn't given in to mass tourism. It is very quiet in May. I read, swam and slept for a week.
It is very quiet in May. I read, swam and slept for a week. Delicious food at a variety of small cafes close by. Completely recharged my batteries. Would recommend visiting Pemuteran particularly if you enjoy snorkelling, Tirta Sari staff are very kind and helpful. The rooms were decorated with charm and all surround a beautiful garden. A delicious breakfast is served every morning on the terrace of your room. The lodge is central, i.e. 7 mins walk to the cute beach and the owner can organise all the excursions at a very fair price. There are lots of nice restaurants within a few minutes walk, and a fabulous spa at the end of the road. The wooden houses are roomy and attractive, with a big front porch. Pemuteran was hot during our week, so we needed to use the air con to escape from the heat sometimes. Front porch had a fan. Headed by Kadek, the team running the place are charming and efficient. So glad we stayed here rather that the big resort next door!
