    My last visit to Surabaya was about 10 years ago. The city had transformed to be nicer and cleaner. Shopping malls were excellent now, cleaner. Keep it up. Surprisingly bluebird taxis were still available, but driver's honesty was questionable at times (meter rates).

    Surabaya is a good stepping stone for other places.

    Surabaya is a good stepping stone for other places. We didn’t really tour the city, mainly because we had other plans around it. The air quality was a bit disturbing. There were a lot of accomodation options, which was good. Would recommend it if you want to see ruins nearby or fly to Pangkalan Bun (Kalimantan).

    Well Surabaya has been improving a lot now, for example it widened the main road like jl Ahmad Yani and others. clean gardens, and traffic was not so bad actually. it is easy to get around. our fav resto is Beatus alfresco Grill N Dining for sure. it was a very short trip 2 nights but fulfilled the purpose of the trip.

    1. Plaza Surabaya Mall, Tunjungan Mall, Gubeng train Station. 2. Many types of food. 3. Most of the time we move around with Grab. 4. Walking on streets if possible as too many traffic and less pavement to walk on safely.

    Movenpick hotel is very clean, nice big rooms with wonderful, amazing & friendly staff Elsa, Shanaz, Mali, Tyas. Elsa the boss of housekeeping team made my room every day, clean, nice smell. Every night when I come to my room made me very happy, clean & nice smell. Good girl Elsa. Shanaz, Mali & Tyas were my guides. Everyday they arrange my trip & I really enjoyed. God bless there hearts. Mali, Tyas & Shanaz were helping me to order Grab& Places to visit. The best customer service, friendly with lots of smile. Very respectful staff & wonderful service.

    The hotel is close to the shopping area, which can be reached by a 20-minute walk (In general, walking in Surabaya is complex, and you need to watch your steps due to the open sewage systems and the lack of traffic lights). You need a taxi to visit other attractions. The staff is friendly and ready to help. Breakfast is varied (local and continental). Earplugs are suggested for a comfortable sleep.

    Very charming hotel, with amazing lobby and breakfast venue, featuring fountains and gardens. The breakfast was fantastic, very rich and varying from sushi and misho, to traditional Indonesian dishes and salads, fresh fruits and western specialties. Staff was extremely polite, helpful and flexible. The value for money is just great!

    We really liked the area the hotel was located as close by there were many Restaurants and Shops where you can try Indonesian food. The Pool was also good and the staff gave some good recommendations regarding local restaurants. The Pool area is really nice to relax in the evening and see the sunset.

    The Majapahit is a wonderful Dutch colonial hotel and a step back in time. You can easily imagine how rich people from 1910 till at least 1950 stayed in this elegant hotel and had a great time, just like we did. It is also a peaceful haven in the middle of the vibrant city center of Surabaya.

    Very nice rooms, didn’t get to see much else of the hotel. Breakfast was okay, very Indonesian so if that’s not your thing you don’t have many options. Overall glad I could stay here and would recommend it to anyone that’s staying in Surabaya!
