Beautiful, little picture postcard town in the unspoiled...
Beautiful, little picture postcard town in the unspoiled countryside that forms part of The Wild Atlantic Way with the friendliest people in Ireland. The little airport nearby, made it easily accessible to me. Looks like a sleepy little town but open the door into the local, Sharkey's bar, and find yourself thrilling with the locals' lively celebration of life. There are countless eateries, including a Michelin Star restaurant, so I was spoilt for choice. I usually opted for bars which have delicious, and varied quality dishes; no basic pub grub here! These are mainly family run from generations back, as the old sepia photographs on the wall will attest. Excellent couple of hotels serving the tastiest, locally sourced foods from local suppliers. The bacon and sausages at the hotel Ciaishlien Óire are the best I've tasted. I enjoyed tranquil peace in Annagry. This, to me, is true Ireland. There's no litter or graffiti, nor the lazy stereotype of drunken brawls.
