The breakfast was first rate, made to order and as they like to say in Ireland "prefect". Rolf had some marmalades on the table and I commented about how good they were. He explained how they came from Annie's Bakery in town and how he procures as much as he can from local supplies and farmers. We stopped at Annie's on our way out of town and purchased three jars of marmalade as well as some yummy pastries. Annie was a lovely lady who was welcoming and a joy to chat with. This is what I loved most about out experiences, meeting people and contributing to their local economy. Upon check-in I had a very unusual request, an 'above and beyond' request and Rolf didn't skip a beat in making sure my request was taken care of. Our room was clean, quite with a lovely window facing the bay. While my wife and I were reading in our room we could here cow's and sheep in the background, really tranquil and nice. This place is special and Rolf makes it extra special. My wife and I wished we had time to spend more days and if ever given the chance we will no doubt come back.

The pod was very comfortable and the view was spectacular. We can see the Downpatrick Head just across the beach from the pod. The facilities were also perfect. The hosts, Lianne and Michael, were very accommodating and helpful.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something truly special. This cottage is an absolute gem — beautifully decorated with impeccable taste, full of charm, and radiating a peaceful, welcoming energy that instantly makes you feel at home. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. The surroundings are just as magical — quiet, serene, and perfect for disconnecting from the world and reconnecting with nature and yourself. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was our wonderful host. Warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her hospitality made us feel more like guests in a dear friend’s home than travelers passing through. And the breakfast — absolutely the best, homemade with love and care! If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat filled with comfort, charm, and heartfelt hospitality, this is the place. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return.

Spacious, lots of character. Had everything 3 cyclists needed. Emily, Frank and Bernie could not have been more helpful. After 8 nights at various b&bs from Ennis to Ballycastle we liked this the most. Got Patrick from Tea by the Sea to deliver great burgers for dinner

We didn't realise how close Ballycastle is to the beach.

We didn't realise how close Ballycastle is to the beach. It was great to be able to walk there and back. We enjoyed an evening drink in Healy's bar which serves an excellent pint of Guinness. We ate at Killala Restaurant about 15 minutes from Ballycastle. Staff there are friendly with great food. We especially liked the chocolate tart with ginger ice-cream. Mary's bakery in Ballycastle was open at 9am and we enjoyed freshly baked scones and pastries before going to visit Downpatrick Head.

A lovely quiet village, with a beautiful bakery called Mary’s Bakery. All beautiful goods cooked on the day fresh and home made! Bally castle village is also not far from the breath taking Downpatrick head! A must see no matter sunshine or rain, we were lucky to experience it in both
