Quaint little town, with the Irish hospitality you would expect and hope for. A few memorial musuems and sculptures, but the people in the town are what we enjoyed most. The place seems a bit on the depressing side despite the beautiful views over water and sea.Maybe it is because I arrived when it was wet. Not not enough happening and despite excellent connection with Cork the place is to sad with houses that definitely need a lick of pink and dampness sorted. It seemed a lot of the places were empty, probably owned by wealthy Dublinites which doesn't help a healthy community spirit.Guest review byAndrewIreland - 10.0

Very unique Irish town with beautiful picturesque buildings. Plenty of great restaurants to choose from for breakfast and dinner. Full of rich history like the Titanic and Spike Island. Bring walking shoes for the hilly streets! Seasalt, Leonardo's and Wan Fu were all great eats and the coffee especially in Seasalt. Lovely service everywhere. Not much to do after the two big attractions (in the actual town), there is two smaller museums and a lovely Cathedral. Location is top, train station and town centre within walking distance. Bedrooms ensuite are extremely large, beds/mattresses perfect and one of rooms with a wonderful view of the lake. Breakfast very comprehensive, egg dishes, salmon etc. every day. But really unique are Marie & Joe! They anticipate your needs & wishes and give you really the feeling of beeing at home. We didn’t eat in the restaurant at the hotel but can recommend the Quays for dinner next store. Hotel is a bit dated and lacks modern conveniences. No mini fridge or wireless casting to TV in family size rooms. Beds & bathroom were ok and functional but again dated. We stayed in the studio out the back, and it was very quiet. It was self-contained with a microwave, tea and coffee facilities, crockery etc if you wanted to eat there. It has the feel of an Airbnb in terms of its set up. The breakfast (freshly baked croissants) was left out for us to collect in the morning. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was enough storage for any person travelling. The hotel is located on the sea front in Cobh and had a spectacular view of the sea.
