The staff was beyond helpful. I had a large group arriving at different times, and they got us all sorted with good humor and efficiency. The staff at reception was helpful and knowledgeable when we needed directions, had lost items, needed taxis, etc. They always had smiles to welcome us and went out of their way to smooth over the very few little issues that arose. The bar staff and housekeeping were was also terrific. The location couldn't be better. We walked almost everywhere. Very pleased with everything about the Chancery.

The hotel is an absolute gem. The room was lovely & cozy with a high ceiling & had a big TV with plenty of channels. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in. Less than 5 minutes walk to the American Embassy, which was the purpose of my visit. Great location and a quiet street. I highly recommend it to anybody staying in Dublin. Also 15 minutes walk into the city center. I'll definitely stay there again.

FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery & Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green spaces of any European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish vacation, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, an independent apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

It is absolutely worth spending a long weekend here, it is a very exciting, crazy city, filled with young and party people. There are less architectural and cultural programs compared to other capitals, but what there is, is worth visiting. I highly recommend the Book of Kells Experience (the full experience program, it's really worth it!) and the National Gallery of Ireland (it's free). There is a tower behind the Jameson factory that can be visited early in the morning for 5 euros, from here you can see the whole of Dublin. The Temple Bar district and Grafton street are of course unmissable and I also very liked the Henry/ Mary streets, and further, the EPIC Museum/Samuel Beckett Bridge area are also worth visiting.

Loved Temple Bar area and all the bars with music.

Loved Temple Bar area and all the bars with music. Beautiful parks for some time out Icon walk in Temple Bar area very interesting Hop on Hop off Big buses not worth the money. Could easily walk the area they cover and the audio is not very informative. Probably better to spend your money on a walking tour. Craic Den comedy show is a must do. Great comedians and price accessible to all. Little variance in restaurant menus and prices. Most seem to be the same. Food just as good in foodhall in shopping centre as it is in pubs and a little cheaper. Good for lunch.

There is so much history and culture in Dublin. You cannot be in a hurry when you visit St Patrick's cathedral or the Book of Kells. There is a mix of excitement and focus in the streets. The parks, the buildings, River Linney and pedestrian streets are lovely.

    City centre crammed with tourists.

City centre crammed with tourists. Dirty and run down in places. Despite terrible incidents if youths attacking tourists, drugs issues etc absolutely no police presence. Visit to Pearse street police station due to incident was encountered by a 3 hour wait with no one available on the counter snd a queue of people equally unattended for 3 hours - most who gave up and left. Absolutely shameful!!
