Jodhpur is an interesting historic city with a magnificent fort towering over the old blue city. The area around the clocktower has numerous bazaars and places to stay and eat, great for shopping and exploring. Jodhpur offers wonderful local handcrafts and is worth visiting for this alone. The old blue city can be reached by foot from the clocktower area and it is worth wandering through the narrow laneways and alleys to get a sense of history and living in this part of Rajasthan.Guest review byMyersThailand - 6.0

the Mehrangarh fort, the Umaid Palace was worth it. Some restaurants were good. Shopping is great if you have time to look at many stires. The tax drivers take a cut by taking you to their know shopping places - please avoid and do your own research. It's clean and well maintained for such an old building. But the best part is definitelly the staff. Vikram the owner is just superb and so attentive and thoughtfull, you get 5 star hotel VIP service. Also Bhavan the waiter was really amazing and helpful, and thanks to both of them we eat in their restaurant every day, that's how much we enjoy it. We stayed in a budget room, which was already a very cool experience with a very comfortable bed and a hot (but short) shower. The best: AMAZING view from the restaurant with AMAZING food. We actually had every meal (breakfast twice, lunch twice, dinner twice) at the restaurant as it was so good and also the best view to the fort.
