Lansdowne – A Hidden Gem in the Hills

Lansdowne – A Hidden Gem in the Hills Lansdowne is one of those rare hill stations that still feels untouched and peaceful. Nestled in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, it offers a refreshing break from the chaos of city life. Unlike the more commercialized hill towns, Lansdowne is quiet, clean, and full of natural charm. The pine forests, misty mornings, and panoramic views of the valleys create a magical atmosphere. Whether you're watching the sunrise over the hills, taking long walks through the woods, or just relaxing with a cup of tea, Lansdowne has a calming effect that's hard to describe. Places like Tip-in-Top, Bhulla Lake, and St. Mary’s Church offer scenic beauty and a glimpse into the area’s history. It’s also a great destination for nature lovers, birdwatchers, or anyone looking to just slow down and unwind. The weather is pleasant almost all year round, making it a perfect weekend getaway from Delhi-NCR. Bonus points for how uncrowded it usually is!

2-3 days were just enough in terms of visiting the local attractions , however if one would like to stay with friends and family and just enjoy the serenity and the nature - one can extend the stay to a week.

A cool location to chill out during the summer.

A cool location to chill out during the summer. Situated at 1750 m above sea level, the landscape of this location is breathtaking and picturesque, surrounded by tall standing pine trees. The best places around are Shree Tarkeshwar Dham, St. John's Church, and Bhulla Taal. Tip and Top, and Santhoshi Mata Mandir are decent enough. 1 day is enough for sightseeing. Mayur Hotel and Restaurant and Northern Flavours were the best eateries explored. A visit to Tarkeshwar Dham, exploring the city, and enjoying the landscape from your resort is the best experience one can have at Lansdowne.

2 days are enough. Very serene , quite location. Book a good hotel like Monarch hill and sit in room balcony and enjoy the view. Visit Tip and Top, Bulla Tall, Chinbu waterfall, Tarkeshwar temple and Kund. Eat at the hotel only. Before it gets dark try returning back to hotel as the roads are narrow.

It is a small town with very few tourist (probably due to Diwali time). However it is a less known place and less crowdy. If some one wants to just relax for 2 days from a busy professional routine, this is the perfect place.
