A peaceful and generous place to be there, Simple people, historical background and rich ancient culture and palatable food are the reasons to be there. I come because of the Ashram so it is a big deal for me and my mum. It is a must see place. So many Restaurants to choose from. Favourite Veggie Indian was Icon Pondy dil se. Really good. Escape Inn for variety and views. Gelato on the promenade is a must. Pondy is easy to get around by Rickshaw and reasonable. There are also plenty of bars. Hook bar with sea views is brilliant. as are drinks and food. Villa Krish is another with great views. Try Asian House also for food and nightlife.
