The staff hospitality is awesome! they really care about you. The staff can help you to book train tickets, find a tooktook, recommend places to go. We rented a bike here, it’s not expensive, so it’s more convenient to explore places. Breakfasts are wonderful, you can have how much you want and whatever you want. Hotel located in amazing exotic place, close to the ocean, beautiful and clean beaches nearby. It has own garden, so you can enjoy the view from territory of the hotel. Totally recommend Kerala cottage!

I stayed here on two occasions recently. The bedrooms were excellent, very spacious, both had balconies, air-conditioning. All the comforts necessary in fact. Very courteous, pleasant and friendly staff.

It was a nice place to stay and experience Kerla came with family and didn't want to leave. The hotel Manager is very accommodating and friendly along with the staff. Highly recommend.

Tiny Temple is a rare gem set back from a quiet section of 'the strip' close to Black Beach. Swati, the host, couldn't be sweeter. He was really helpful and made us feel completely at home. The location and view from the rooftop/deck is unbeatable and the price was totally reasonable (we were there just before 'high' season). New Wifi is being installed which will be the cherry on top! Another perk was the fine folks at Elina's Clifftop Restraunt (next door) who were really accommodating and even offered room/rooftop service. My daughter and I took a risk on a spot without reviews and in this case we're so glad we did. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Everything was perfect, the room was clean and very confortable. The owner and his team are super nice and helpful for anything! Gypsy walker is also perfectly located : it's at 3min away by foot from the beach and it's still quiet and secluded in nature. I can't recommanded this place enough!

Only a few footsteps away from the cliff with lots of restaurants shops etc. Just over a year old residency spotless clean. Adjustable AC with balcony each room. The best hotel we had on our trip through India. Well worth the price.

    Very nice coast, it’s possible to walk for kilometres along the coast. It’s quite turistic but mainly locals so it doesn’t bother too much. It’s possible to get into the sea only in very few places but I wouldn’t recommend it. The town has lots of markets, bakeries and restaurants. There are several yoga studios along the coast.

    It is a beautiful place with plenty of beaches, greenery, small town shops, water sports and the most beautiful mangroves. There are also nice places like the Jatayu Park and the Shri Narayana Guru Samadhi and ancient temples that are a treat to visit.

    Beautiful views worth seeing.

    Beautiful views worth seeing. However most visitors are rowdy which affects the comfort of people seeking a more down to earth experience. Restaurants often out price locals and cater to Western tastes; they seek a specific type of well put together, middle or upper class traveller. Monsoon season is likely a more relaxing time to be here with less rowdy visitors from out of town/state. Little cleanup efforts for the beaches. Bad sanitation and waste control. Waste burning unfortunately normalised.

    The beach was awesome, the water temperature and calmness of the sea making it perfect for swimming. Varkala itself had plenty of options for eating at any budget level and the people were friendly, helpful and generally very honest in their dealings with tourists. The temple was especially interesting for us and was mostly open to non-hindus to walk around its grounds.

    Large beach with fabulous turquoise sea and big waves with some sun beds down one end if wanted . Lovely views and sunsets. Busy lively area ( we were there just after Xmas/ new year ) with many restaurants and shops along the cliff side. No beach hawkers on beach which made a change . Not really suitable for young children or people with mobility issues as big waves and steep steps to beach . We ate at costa del mer which had good European food if you feel like a change from the standard Indian food and was really excellent for breakfast as well as other meals . There are also cheaper good more traditional Indian restaurants just off the main drag . Roof top sky bar great for sundowners overlooking beach .

    Rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and well air conditioned - bathrooms too. Bed very comfortable and shower brilliant. Nice touches in the room such as water, toiletries and amenities (fridge, safe etc). Pool was great and open slightly beyond sunset, and easy access to Varkala beach and North Cliff via the path (during the day). Breakfast has a lot of options, and the treatments we had in the spa were very relaxing. Staff are pleasant and very helpful and the same day laundry service was very efficient.

    This place is perfect because it’s the only resort directly at the varkala beach. everyone else needs to climb down the cliff while you just step out onto the sand. All the other stuff you expect from a hotel are good too. I had the cheapest room and it’s perfectly fine. the Restaurant is good too and the staff super nice

    Good family hotel with a very helpful host. Only 5 min walk from the Varkala Cliff and the beach, when you find the short cut. Large double room with good bed, shower, private balcony and fan. AC if you are ready to pay extra. A nice 3-days stay for me and my son!
