Great stop on the ring road, Hwy. 1. Simple town with nice guesthouses on the ocean. Highly recommend the Brimslod Altier Guesthouse! We also had dinner there, and is open to non-guest reservations. Accommodations are outstanding as are the delicious dinners and breakfasts prepared by our hosts. People from around the world visit here and share their experiences. Amazing sea views. Great breakfast. Ate dinner at another establishment in town that was very good. If we stayed longer we would have eaten dinner at the hotel. The room was gorgeous. Loved the roof window. It even had a bluetooth speaker that sounded great. We could have stayed much longer if we had the time. Nice little bridgehead town with various services.
Nice little bridgehead town with various services. A good base to travel from. Various choices of good day trips, e.g. around Skagi and Vatnsnes peninsulas, Skagafjörður district and the scenic valley of Vatnsdalur. Blönduós is also a good staring point for a highland drive across Kjölur to Reykjavík.Guest review bySigfus

We had a very spacious, beautiful and clean room. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. The host even provided high-quality toilet paper, which is outstanding compared to other hotels. We also booked the three-course dinner, which was personally prepared by the host and it was exquisite. The host was very friendly and shared fascinating stories and anecdotes with us. It has a spacious dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 showers, 3 toilets and all was super clean thanks to the great staff (I hope Karolina repeats next year). It can of course get busy when it’s full, but much better than the ones I stayed around. A nice plus that you can rent bedding if you don’t have a sleeping bag.Guest review byMateSpain
