We loved this amazing little cabin at the foothills of the mountains! So peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was fantastic and had incredible views. Hosts were amazing and had 2 very friendly and playful dogs. Close to a glacier which we managed to have to ourselves after a morning hot tub. Heating and hot water in the cabin was great. Beds very comfy.

I had the pleasure of staying at Árnanes Country Hotel, a family-owned gem that immediately felt like home. What made my visit truly special was the warm hospitality of the owners. They generously shared insights into fascinating, off-the-beaten-path destinations that I would have never discovered otherwise. These unique recommendations added so much depth to my exploration of the surrounding area. The relaxed vibe extended to the morning routine as well. I appreciated the flexibility around breakfast times—there was no rush, and I could enjoy my morning meal even if arriving at the end of the schedule, savoring it without feeling hurried. This laid-back approach contributed significantly to the overall feeling of comfort and ease during my stay. My accommodation was a charming little house entirely constructed from wood, with thoughtful and attractive decorations that created a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The eating area followed suit, adorned with vintage decorations and decorative natural flowers, making every meal feel special. Having a parking spot right next to my house added an extra layer of convenience, simplifying my daily excursions. While the accommodation didn’t offer dinner during my stay due to the low season, this turned out to be a hidden blessing. It led me to explore the nearby city of Hofn, where I discovered some fantastic restaurants for my evening meals. In summary, my stay at Árnanes Country Hotel was nothing short of delightful, thanks to the incredible warmth of the owners, the beauty of the surroundings, and the comfort of my accommodation.     I loved the remoteness but was only a 15 minute drive to...

    I loved the remoteness but was only a 15 minute drive to Hofn for shopping, restaurants, etc. We enjoyed the extreme natural beauty and spent a day kayakibng among the icebergs and hiking a glacier. Even though we had to travel an hour or so to the glacier hike, it was worth it. The ride itself was filled with spectacular scenery.
