Location is good, 5m away from the city (Egillstadir) center with a very beautiful lake view. You can also enjoy the view of the lake in a hot tub located in front of it :) Beds are awesome. Such as the shower (good shower amenities available). Heating is good and very well thought (it runs under the floor!). Breakfast was not left behind: delicious and well taken care of. Christine and her husband take care of everything and make seem like you are in someone’s place, not in a hotel. So, don’t doubt: when traveling in Iceland, Hotel 1001 Nott is, definitely, a stay.

These holiday homes all offer a private terrace with barbecue facilities, in addition to a well-equipped kitchenette with free coffee and tea. Egilsstadir town centre is a 8-minute drive away.

We loved the cabin and its surroundings. It's secluded enough to feel isolated, yet a five-minute drive from the grocery store, gas station, etc. It was clean and all the appliances were in perfect working order. We cooked dinner and enjoyed the quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

The natural surroundings, the farm, the accommodation, the food, the staff, and the fact that everything was built around sustainability truly impressed us. I recently stayed at Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir during a trip to Iceland and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in a stunning location overlooking Lake Lagarfljót, and we were lucky enough to spot the Northern Lights during our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing us with tips on the best spots to view the Northern Lights and ensuring that we were comfortable throughout our stay. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet was also delicious, with a great variety of options to choose from. One of the highlights of our stay was the hot tub facility, which was situated outside with stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the area. Overall, I would highly recommend Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir to anyone visiting the area. The location, staff, amenities, and Northern Lights spotting opportunities are all excellent, and the hot tub is a fantastic added bonus. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient and close to eateries, grocery stores and gas stations. The rooms and facilities were clean. We had a comfortable stay here.
