Very comfortable beds- best during our one week stay in Iceland . Big rooms.

The room and bathroom was clean, the host was welcoming and surrounding nature is great, worth the slight detour.

The location was perfect, and the waitress from the restaurant was very lovely to us. Amazing view from the window :)

The location was excellent, in a peaceful place under the mountains and glacier. The staff were very friendly, they even rang a bell when the Aurora Borealis was visible. Spacious rooms. The hot tubes outside. Breakfast was very good.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay in the Hengifoss lodge. It's a dream to stay here. Once entered you're greeted by the warm smell of ember caused by the wood that was used to make this house. The colours and the layout of the room is incredibly cosy. The fireplace keeps the house (almost too) warm, and the window + terrace give an exceptional view over the lake and mountains. The hosts are also amazing and gave us the feeling that we're not only welcome, but also that they really understand why we chose to go to Iceland. We asked for help with our fireplace and the host, Isabelle, came to the rescue. She tried to help us to lit a fire but to no avail. We did however have a really good conversation. However when she left, we were content enough. Yet still she knocked on the door and winked us to come over. She told us enthusiastically that the Northern Lights were dancing and fully visible, we had to come outside! The next morning it was kind of raining, a little bit. But the sun was also shining through the clouds. The husband, Steff, called me when I was standing on the terrace. He said: "There is a rainbow there!" and pointed towards slightly behind the house I was standing in front of. I walked to the side and indeed saw a beautiful rainbow. This might not say much to other people wanting to stay there. But to me it feels like these people have such a connection with Iceland, its beauty and understand that we are there for the same connection, they told us to look at beautiful views which Iceland offers, and we were delighted to follow their guidance. Thank you Isabelle and Steff, for the warm welcome. Whenever we're in Iceland and planning to go near Eggs, we will definitely make use of your beautiful little houses.

It was really cozy and comfy with great views to the lake and the mountains. The staff was really kind, especially the woman with yellow jacket. In the room there was water and homemade cookies, we loved that detail.

Loved this place and our host. Added bonus of a sauna and a hottub and some delicious homemade icelandic bread. Perfect stop over when travelling the ring road and only 5 minutes from the majestic Hengifoss. I do hope life brings us this way again.

the room is big and has all you need to stay over. you can cook, or warm food. there are a bedroom and a living room separate. kitchen is well equipped. the view is wonderful.

Beautiful landscape. Private, quiet, extremely clean.
