Belluno is a stunning town.
Belluno is a stunning town. You are always surrounded by spectacular mountains and the beautiful turquoise colour of the river. Considering the size of the town there are many excursions available a short distance away and the local cuisine does not disappoint! There are many restaurants and cafes in close proximity to Piazza dei Martiri (Martyrs' Sq). While we were there we had the opportunity to experience the carbonara festival which was a delight! Small city, very well connected to other cities (2h with the train to Vienna), to ski resorts (45 min to Alleghe, 1h to San Pellegrino, 1.5h to Araba/Sella Ronda). The city has a small city center, good for walks and a good coffee, I totally recommend Japan House and La Trappola for eating, there is also a huge supermarket (Emisfero), a shoe shop (Pittarello), sport stores (Non Solo Sports and Kiwi), cosmetics shop (Tigota) and all these surrounded by beautiful mountains. Belluno is a lovely little town and the surrounding area has much to offer. I was there for work so little time to explore , Great ice cream at Novecento ( Astra hotel). It is a charming village, bigger than most in the area, but...
It is a charming village, bigger than most in the area, but some parts of the historic centre are in terrible disrepair. There are lots of bars and gelato shops, but too few restaurants that actually serve warm meals. Most good restaurants have all the tables reserved by locals in the evening, so it is a bit of a struggle to eat out on a whim. Also, the restaurants serve lunch and dinner according to a fixed schedule, so don't even think of having pizza or pasta at 4 or 5 in the afternoon!Guest review byCiprianRomania

I arrived unexpectedly early and was able to get into my room within 30 minutes which was very much appreciated. The location was excellent and very convenient for the station and city centre. The hotel stored bags and did not mind bikes in the foyer. The room was spotlessly clean and it had a fridge and electric kettle plus tea,coffee etc. The lighting for reading was great. Claudia & Mario are amazing hosts and took great care of us! They were attentive & met our needs. The room was spacious, full of light, extremely clean and cozy. The view was amazing and we woke up to the birds singing and a marvelous view of the rural Italian life. There is parking on sight available and multiple hiking trails around (Lake Mis, for example). Both the bedroom and the bathroom were very spacious, modern, and well-equipped. The area was very quiet, which made for some restful sleep. Breakfast was good and had different high-quality options.
