It is a lovely area with a multitude of beaches, friendly people, and plenty of restaurants. It is a long way from the airports, but the roads are good and so the 80 minute drive from Olbia isn't onerous. A parasol or some other sun shelter is a must (although it is possible to hire parasols on some beaches) - the sun is very intense and shade can be difficult to come across on many beaches, especially those accessible only by boat.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It was a short 2-night stay at Cala Gonone in early April. There is so much to visit here in the region so I would like to return. Lovely beaches in Cala Gonone, romantic walks in the town, tasty meals in the welcoming restaurants. Nearby great walks to beaches where you can also get by regular boat trips. Really nice town in a glorious location - quite a peaceful vibe in mid-October as the season winds down. The Gulf of Orosei is the highlight, with boats trips available to isolated beaches, cliffs and caves. Highly recommend a day trip on Dovesesto (a 1940's sailing yacht) - an unforgettable day out. Central to everything in the town and the beach but in a quiet residential street. The outdoor area with the pool was welcoming and relaxing and the continental breakfast was deliciously satisfying. The management team consisting of Mario and Fabienne were friendly, obliging to our needs and very helpful with tips on boat tours, day trips and recommended restaurants for dinner. We stayed in a large beautifully renovated room with balcony and sea view. The hotel has a garden and a nice pool with stunning views to the sea and the surrounding mountains!
