How a minor checkin problem was handled with professional ease. Wonderful breakfast and staff... comfortable beds....and the winter room nestled in the vineyard for our morning coffee and sunset glass of wine....and of course the vineyatd's wine. Close to a historic village and great restaurants.

I loved the stay in this guesthouse. Beautifully restored historic building, runned by a family. Our room was cosy, nicely designed, comfortable and super clean. We had a balcony in our room, but there is also a terrace for guests' disposal with some great panoramic views.

A Beautifully appointed room in a great location. A very helpful and caring host. On our request Denise helped give suggestions for day trips, dinners and local places to visit. There was an amazing breakfast served daily by Denise and her team. We were originally looking to stay in a larger town but are so happy we decided to stay here! Wonderful views of Etna from the balcony and a stunning view of the town and local scenery as well. We cant rate this property any higher, we loved our stay. We felt like we were in 'real Sicily' here. Thanks Denise for a beautiful and memorable stay!

Where to start??? The location is incredible! A great view of Etna, nice quiet surroundings, beautiful views of mountains and vineyards. The staff were all lovely! Especially the lady who greeted us and seemed to be the manager (I think her name was Giovanna) She was so nice, kind and helpful... and a wonderful chef! We had the best meal of our 2 week trip there in a really spectacular room. The selections of wine were brilliant. Clear communications with us. The pool was fantastic, nice quiet, peaceful and everywhere was really clean. I would go back tomorrow no matter what cost. It was a real gem! I cant speak highly enough of it. We absolutely loved it and had a great holiday.

You will have a very gracious host who has furnished the house beautifully. It is not only beautiful, but it is also extremely comfortable and quiet. Wonderful breakfast from fresh local products.

somewhere between dreams, imagination and hope lie what we are presented with as 'reality'! Castiglione and Donna Denise are closer to the dreams and hopes of this long time traveller. The saying goes; 'a picture is worth a thousand words' Pictures and thousands of words could not come close to describing the visit we made to Castiglione.....no words,....no pictures! Silence and a smile and knowing that I had held the best in my hand if for just a few days!

Charming truly Sicilian town with narrow streets and in close neighbourhood with Etna. 40-50 min drive from touristy Taormina and 1 h from Catania. Perfect location for quite holiday on Sicily and tranquillity!

I had read that this was one of the prettiest towns in Italy...

I had read that this was one of the prettiest towns in Italy. It COULD BE but it currently seems now to be very rundown, with lots of old empty buildings, properties falling down and overall just lacking money and resources. It has some pretty streets and some great views, but overall it does not compare to many other towns in Italy. On the good side it is not full of tourists like the Amalfi coast towns, or Taormina but it needs more funding for it to become a place worth visiting for more than an hour or so. The castle has good views and there are a few pretty squares. Parking was tricky as the roads are extremely narrow and no parking showed up on our map!

A great village to stay with plenty to to see around with its narrow winding streets and castle perched at the summit. You are between the foothills of Etna with its diverse landscape and the wonderful Alcantara River with its Gorge and River Park.

It is beautiful old city similar to Toscany cities, located on a hill. It is a bit more neglected than Toscany (Sicilia effect) but still beautifull, with magical climate. Worthy to walk through the city, visit Castel di Lauria - amazing view, panorama on the city, Etna and sorroundings, Church SS Maria di Catena. Good Italian cuisine (home made style) in Presidente restaurant and Dispensa del Etna. It is not easy to drive in Castiglione as it is typical Sicilian city with extremely narrow roads but it is difficult for the first time... than it is like a piece of cake. If you do not want to drive - you can park your car on a parking space - Piazza XI Febrario.

Fantastic location perched above Castiglione di Sicilia. Great views of Etna from our room, the balcony and the terrace. Denise has a lot of style and is the perfect host: - great comms before our arrival - providing a late-night guide due to our delayed arrival - lovely vegan and vegetarian breakfast options (and lots of it!) - advice re days out and excursions - contacting local guides on our behalf. Very highly recommended.
