Great location, very beautiful and interesting old architecture. When the windows are closed, the room is quiet. The self chek-in was very easy to do.

The service was excellent and very friendly, the room was nice, we ate at the hotel each night, there was a choice of starters mains and sweets, for a set price depending on how many courses you chose, (very reasonable priced, only €21 for full 3 course plus salad/veg) we had salad all three nights along with either a starter or main, 1st night pasta with venison ragu👍then pork wrapped in parma ham 👌lastly pasta with pesto😁 table wine was nice & very reasonable at €12, also loved the pinot grigio, which is my tipple, along with a few limonchello's and aperell sprites. The bar closed at 10pm but you could sit and enjoying your drinks in the lounge until whenever. We was on motorbikes and there was ample parking space in the garage and loads of fabulous roads /passes to go on, we didn't use the spa as we went out on our bikes, I would definatly recommend this as a place to stay.

Room and amenities provided were both very high standard. Superb. Breakfast choice, F and B quality and above all service were all exceptionally good. One of the very best managed and greatly cared for hotels that I have stayed in my many travels.

Beautiful hotel, everything is brand new (the hotel was only open 2 weeks when we stayed). Every aspect of the design and layout has had a lot of thought put into it. The restaurant is worth a visit but consider pre-booking as it is very busy.

Lovely layout, lovely, big room, comfortable bed, very relaxing atmosphere, perfect silence which you will find very relaxing for your peace of mind, lovely scenery of green mountains from room. Castel Hortenberg was for us a serendipitous stop on a drive south to Tuscany. From the welcome at reception, our trip to the Archaeological Museum, an elegantly served dinner, a comfortable night's rest to a delicious cornucopia of a breakfast everything was a delight. The hotel is quiet, tucked away above Bolzano, the staff friendly and helpful the facilities excellent and the parking secure and private.

Every single thing about this hotel is outstanding. The sense of arrival is magnificent, jaw dropping, the hotel is beautiful, the history, the design, the very clever conversion to a hotel, the service was just perfect. We were staying over as part of a long journey, but really didn't want to leave. This is a hotel we would love to revisit, to bring some books, stay a few days, enjoy the tranquility, take a seat in one of the many nooks and crannies perfectly set up for chilling out. I can't think of a better place to rest and relax at. We enjoyed every single minute, but the moment that really stood out was breakfast in the cloister on a lovely sunny morning with the sunlight streaming throught the vines, a superb breakfast, truly taken at leisure. We could have stayed in that moment for hours.
