A lovely little place with great amenities and activities for all. It is best known for it's hiking/walking paths, but it is also a bit of a mecca for cyclists. The village is small but well equipped with all the amenities. It's also within a 30-45 minute walk to Merano, either via the higher pathway (i.e. the Algunder Waalweg) or via lower streets. This lower area of Lagundo, where my hotel is, is not the best. There is another area of Lagundo, higher in the side of the mountain, with better view and nicer ways to take a ride. But Lagundo is often chosen to stay, because it's near Meran. Center of Meran is about 2,5 km from the hotel. The rooms were ideal for a couple and when the weather allowed we enjoyed the large balcony. The spa pool and jacuzzi were a nice addition. The staff were great and very helpful. The location is good for walking and enjoying the oddest mountain chair lift we have ever seen….but it was great. The staff were really lovely and service was excellent. This is mainly German speaking but all staff were very happy to speak in English. The food was awesome. Such a good spread for breakfast and light lunch. Dinner is excellent and different menus each evening. There are nice walking trails straight out of the hotel.
