We had a week in Milazzo, nice food and cheap. Very handy for ferries to islands and you can get a cheap bus to Milazzi station for other destinations. I really warmed to it, even though it is off the tourist track (much more Sicilian and no tatty shops). Lovely quiet beach on west side of peninsula. Castle is worth visiting, a place to stay and use to get to other places. Milazzo is a charming small town with a rich history and plenty of cafes, restaurants, and entertainment options. It offers a solid nightlife scene blended with intimate and beautiful dining spots. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality of food is good—we enjoyed fresh and delicious meals everywhere we went. I didn’t expect much, but I would gladly return again. Its location is excellent, as it sits halfway between many significant sights worth visiting. There aren’t many foreign tourists, which adds a special charm by giving a more authentic glimpse into the summer habits and culture of the Italians. Sicilians are a warm and welcoming people. We felt comfortable, safe, and embraced. Everyone was smiling, cheerful, and ready to treat you like one of their own. The local culture in this town is expressed to its fullest, in the most beautiful way. Young people socialize in a very urban, modern, and cultured manner—without drama, but with plenty of style. The people are lovely, and I truly recommend Milazzo to anyone looking for a good, relaxing holiday without crowds, with all the amenities you could need: clean water, beaches, a historic town, the charm of Italy, good food, warm locals, long walks, incredible sunsets, and quality time well spent.Guest review byDraganaSerbia - 10.0

Train station is three kilometres from the town centre.
Train station is three kilometres from the town centre. There are infrequent buses from the station or taxis. I shared a taxi with three others to the port which is in the town centre and it cost 20 euros ( 5 each ). I walked to the station when I left and it took an hour from the town centre. Impressive castle and fort but I did not visit the inside of either, but great views of the city from the castle hill. Milazzo is an underrated city.
Milazzo is an underrated city. It offers the benefits of crystal clear beaches to swim at as well as fantasic authentic Sicilian cuisine. We much preferred the beaches in Milazzo than in Taormina where they are hard to access, mostly tourist traps and packed with overpriced beach clubs. Milazzo has some great historic value with plenty to see including its own castle, one of the most beautiful churches up on a mountain cliff (Tindari) and some great local, authentic Sicilian cuisine that isn't overpriced or a copy/paste tourist trap like some of the other more commercialized cities. I have been there twice in the last 15 years and every time I've been I've always regretted not staying there longer. Next time we travel to Italy we will be basing ourselves here and exploring more of Sicily and southern Italy.Guest review byAnthonyAustralia - 10.0

It’s near the beach and near the harbor if you want to go for a boat trip to the Eolian islands. The apartment is large, and with a great personal touch in the vintage like classical interior design and furniture. And most importantly it is clean and the host is extremely helpful and friendly. There’s a well equipped kitchen and a supermarket just around the corner, so it’s perfect if you want to cook your own meals.
