Beautiful old authentic house in a quiet place. Our appartement was very spacious. Well equiped kitchen. Huge bathroom. Lovely natural garden. Clean pool. 1min walk to the river. Very funcional retro kids plaground. Already miss this place.

The hotel is right on top of the village and next to the castle. You can drive there and even find free parking - 20 meters away from the hotel. This is a family managed hotel and everyone was super friendly and making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast offered a full range of local treats. Our room was big and spoiled us with amazing views of the valley and the Etna.

This is an absolute MUST to stay in for a well-priced, budget hotel. So much nicer up in the hills in Castelmola than it would have been in the crowds of Taormina, and the walk down, and up again, to Taormina was beautiful. The family run hotel was just a pleasure to stay in, with wonderful hosts who were so sweet and helpful. It's a simple room and simple breakfast, but all you need really, and the view from our room, of the coast and Mt Etna - WOW! You have to park down the road, but there is plenty of space to pull up outside the hotel and unload, and then they will show you where to go - easy.

This property was a great discovery. Reception staff provided good advice and was very professional. The hotel is charming. We had the beautiful suite Venere perfect for a family, very spacious, two bathrooms, two terraces one facing Etna, the other one the sea. The pool area was very nice too. Everything was clean and well maintained. The hotel is walking distance (5/10min) from the beautiful Castelmola and 10/15min drive downhill from Taormina (the hotel also offers a free shuttle bus to the city). We will definitely return.

The place is really authentic, you will be welcomed like at home. I've seen some comments and was in doubt if I should book here, but I am glad I did. Some travellers might be picky, I personally found this hotel exceptional.

    The small village of Motta Camastra is picturesque; the view...

    The small village of Motta Camastra is picturesque; the view is amazing and the small bar in the centre makes exceptionally delicious and cheap sweets. However, you will need a car to get there, and the main parking is on an uphill so make sure that the driver is a confident one. There is not much to see other than the views, so 2 hours for a walk around, coffee and sweets is more than enough. There are a number of neighbouring villages which are more or less the same.

    This Apartment is situated in a newly renovated, but originally typical building of the old “Borghi” in Sicily. The views from the balcony are breathtakingly beautiful! We stayed here, because we visited the “Mamme del borgho” (we absolutely recommend this!), but the Alcantara Valley is also nearby. Motta Camastra is a beautiful little village with gorgeous views, surrounded by wonderful nature and with extremely friendly people!

    Staff was exceptional. Owner greeted us personally. Breakfast was more than great eventhough during our first night hotel was almost empty. It has parking. It is only 25 minutes from Taormina. There is a pool you can use and a charming terrace.
