Everything was perfect during my stay. The room is spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed, and also very quiet. The staff was extremely friendly, always communicating to see if everything was correct with the room and giving city and restaurant recommendations. I also enjoyed all the free snacks and water bottles that were daily refreshed in my room.

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and cable cars. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of tunnels you can visit and even a Graeco-Roman theater which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artifacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

    Our first trip to Naples, and we loved it.

    Our first trip to Naples, and we loved it. The narrow streets of the central district were so much fun to wander in, and there was lots to do throughout the city - shops, galleries, bars, churches. The underground and train lines were easy to navigate, and staff on hand to advise. We there there for the feast of San Genarro, when his blood miraculously liquified, leading to street parties, processions and fireworks. A fabulous city, and we're hoping to return.

    Naples is a dirty city, a lot of waste everywhere, but you can find beautiful places to visit. I had short period spent as I visited Amalfi coast entirely. From here is the fastest route to Pompeii and you have also metro to Sorrento which is a must see.

    I've been to Naples many times in the past and enjoyed the culture very much. I know its darker side. But the huge increase in tourism is having a lot of impact and making it intolerable to walk the streets

    Would not recommend.

    Would not recommend. Naples is dirty with rubbish piled up in the streets. Smells of sewerage & rubbish with lots of unsavoury people about the city. First place in Italy where we actually felt unsafe and left a day earlier than expected.

    A very interesting and vibrant city with a great buzz.

    A very interesting and vibrant city with a great buzz. Lots of great restaurants and a great metro system. We always felt very safe and welcome, despite the fact that it was very busy. The locals we met were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Taverna dell Arte near Universita metro station for a great meal.

    It’s a busy city full of history,you will find you do a lot of walking but it is worth the effort. It’s easy to get around the city by using its public transport and using it to get too the must do things. Ie the catacombs and Pompei .

    The apartment was amazing. Paola met us on arrival and was so helpful. She told us where the best places to go were and also sent them to my phone. We couldn’t have asked for more. The apartment itself is very nice, Versace tiles and wallpaper is a nice touch when staying in Italy. The location is excellent. If you want to stay out of Naples centre, this area is lovely, pedestrianised, and has families walking out until 11:00pm. It’s so nice. The lift is entertaining, part of the quirks of being a local. We loved it all!

    Not your usual hotel type of room but interesting with a story behind it. Our host Antonio was extremely helpful in all aspects of our first visit to Naples. On our arrival Antonio gave us an excellent introduction to the city including advice on what to see, where to eat and drink and how to keep ourselves safe. We also experienced unforgettable football event in the city. Naples team became the champion of Italy. They celebrated it with passion and vigor like we never saw before. A very memorable stay in Naples.

    We arrived at the central train station, then walked through the madness of the crowds, pulling our suitcases. we eventually made our way through a couple of narrow streets, the outside of the buildings were worn but our room was a little oasis from the chaos of Napoli. Very nicely done ! The breakfast was fabulous ! not all breakfasts are equal in Italy. Our host was warm and welcoming. Thank you so much for having us we absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Naples
