Moreover, one of the most beautiful sections of the Sardinian coast (the Orosei gulf) is only a half hour drive away, with great opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and sea kayaking The city is small, quiet, and very safe with excellent food. This is not really a tourist town, but it's a great location with good access to explore. It seems a quiet town. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. Beautiful place with lovely people. I felt safer than other cities I have visited. But obviously, you can never be too cautious. I would definitely recommend learning Italian for a while before visiting though because the locals don't speak much English and it makes it easier for everyone!Guest review byCharlene FitzgeraldIreland

We especially appreciated the fact that heating in the house was functional (end of March - it is sunny and warm throughout the day, but it can get chilli in the evenings) and that we could use the washing machine. We were pleasantly surprised with breakfast options and coffee and tea selection. It had been very kind of the host that she offered as a gift the map which we took by mistake. We stayed in Demetra room which is facing the wall of the next building (so no view) but very quiet. The other one has much better view (I guess) but it's probably more louder since there's a restaurant underneath. It is close to the bus station going to Cala Gonone, maybe a 10 minute walk. The room was so clean and had everything we needed for a night’s stay. We arrived in Nuoro from Cagliari on a Sunday night so we didn’t see much of the place. Our host was so responsive and made sure we had a nice stay.
