FAQs about hotels in Palermo

A Symbol of Sicily

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.

Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theater, and across the street is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina, whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.

Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining the 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.

Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, an intersection with a fountain in each corner.

Other attractions include the round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodations.

    Great city and very walkable.

Great city and very walkable. You can walk to all major sights in no more than 20 minutes. The food is tremendous and unlike anywhere else in Italy. Palermo has been one of our favorite stops during our month in Italy. It may be a little dirty for some but I think it gives in character and does not effect how much fun you will have. You can bus to a beautiful beach in just 30 minutes also.

Each time I return to this city, my affection for it deepens. Its streets may at times be loud, dirty and crowded, yet hidden within are quiet corners where one can breathe, linger, and feel the spell of its Sicilian charm. Like the finest of Italy’s cities, it unfolds in layers of history and art, moments waiting to be discovered.....

Palermo has a vivid and charming atmosphere.

Palermo has a vivid and charming atmosphere. There are certainly many things to see and enjoy about the city and its close surroundings. On the other hand. Get ready to experience the freestyle no rules hell in traffic when you drive or ride (which just makes us really laugh sometimes) and also get ready to see a dire mess on the streets where garbage lies in plastic bags all over just next to something beautiful and anyone just leaves thrash completely recklessl wherever they deem fit.

Beautiful immersion in historical places and street food culinary adventures. Palermo feels safe, however as it became a turist destination, most of the time you will end up being charged high price, in restaurants, for a meal not worth the money (mainly in the most popular areas)

For a Northern European, it will be a shock to see dirt and garbage everywhere. But all this will be compensated by the sun, the sea, the incredibly delicious food and the relaxed atmosphere. The incredibly beautiful nature and the city's dynamics.

The hotel was immaculate.Beautiful marble everywhere. Also, the staff was exceptionally good! Super helpful and kind. Especially Giuseppe and Farhana, they went above and beyond to improve our stay any way they could. The only negative thing was that the website for the hotel promised free wifi and when we got there there was NO WIFI in the rooms. There was free wifi but only in the hotel lobby (which, even though it was elegant, was quite small)

Probably the best apartment my family and I stayed at in Sicily! Stayed here for 3 nights in total. Rosina's flat was such a great size and so well equipped, from complementary treats and coffee to some washing up liquid for clothes washing if needed. Kitchen also well equipped and adequate space for us to cook dinner and enjoy it in the apartment. Great location too, 15 minutes walk in a straight line and you are in the old town of palermo.

We loved everything about the place. First of all, Kathy is an amazing person! She was warm and welcoming, her breakfasts were amazing. She gave us suggestions for food and sightseeing. The whole place was very stylish, clean and so comfortable. Walking distance from the historic centre. The best place we stayed in Sicily. If I went back to Palermo, I would stay there again without second thoughts!

This hotel was a one night stop during our road trip through Sicily. The hotel is clean and in an excellent location. It is on a busy street but we could not hear the traffic and is about a 10 minute walk to the centre of Palermo. Plenty of restaurants around the area too. We parked our car in an underground garage about 150 metres from the hotel for about 15 Euro for 24 hours.
