Excellent hotel up in the hills of Varenna, very peaceful and I can imagine it's an Ideal location in the busy months away from the main town. Rita was the perfect hostess, very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was fantastic and the room was perfect and a great size, would highly recommend. My friend and I only stayed one night so feel that we couldn't appreciate it as much as we would have liked! It's a steep climb up cobbles to the top but we enjoy a challenge! Just be careful as very slippery in the wet! Rita kindly offered for us to be picked up from the station or you can get a taxi 😊 Also a short walk up to the castle which is well worth a visit for the history and stunning views

Amazing breakfast !!! The Albergo is very basic but it has the... basic staff ! Clean and you can sleep confortably. The best relation price-quality I found in Lago di Como where accomodation is very expensive. Varenna is one of the best villages to visit in the Lake. And the Albergo is like less than 5 minutes walking from the boats arrival / departure. As I wrote in the begining, the breakfast (included) is really really amazing. A lot of yummy stuff (see picture) Conclusion: if you are rich you can go to fancy hotels. If you are not, this Albergo is the best choice.

We had the most amazing stay at Villa Gli Ulivi Chalten Apartment! The Villa was even nicer than the photos with stunning views of Lake Como. It was set up with everything you could need for your stay, for cooking and a lovely welcome basket. The owners even went above and beyond and picked us up from the bus stop and dropped us off there too. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a cosy stay in Varenna, close to town with amazing views!

This apartment is absolutely charming and beautiful. Everything was prepared nicely and with care. We were shocked by the beautiful view from the garden. Apartment was also very clean, I really couldn’t ask for more. Thank you for the welcoming snacks and beverages. We love everything there!

The view from Villa gli Ulivi was quite simply stunning and spectacular. We watched the many moods from Lake Como from the balcony mesmerised. Silvia and her husband were great hosts. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the train to the Villa then ferried us back to the train themselves when it was time to leave. They were responsive to any message we sent and great hosts. It is up a hill from the train station and I would not suggest trying to take luggage up the hill walking. We would walk into town and then we caught the D21 bus or walked back up, walk down in about 15mins, walk up is a bit longer but take breaks and it’s ok. Or you can taxi for 15 euro. The property has a lovely garden, well equipped kitchen and three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. After moving around Italy it was nice to sit and watch the sunsets on the balcony.

I loved everything about it. Very tasteful interior. Great space for a small family who doesn't mind the open space. The bedroom is only slightly separated from the main area. We loved the view, the cleanliness, the location. Wifi, toiletries and basics like oil salt teas coffee etc were included... Extra touches were the tomato sauce and pasta we found (although we didn't use it). The host was very responsive and flexible during check in. We would definitely go back!

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at this apartment! The first thing that struck us was the stunning view from the window—it was absolutely breathtaking and made our mornings so much more enjoyable. The host was also incredibly helpful and super polite. Silvia made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The apartment itself was really nice and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances and utensils, and the living area was cozy and spotless Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay with an amazing view of Lake Como and a fantastic host.

    A nice quite place to walk around in the montain / hills, to wonder far from the noise of too many turists. The view of the lake is breathtaken. People in the town are very kind. With teenegers or without, a nice place to visit at least a couple of days.

    Perledo has amazing views of the lake and has everything you need for a couple of days - shop, bar & restaurant. We loved our stay here - a great base from which to visit the lake but escape the other tourists.

    I had a great stay at this property.

    I had a great stay at this property. The view was absolutely stunning – one of the highlights of the trip! The host was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. The Jacuzzi was a real treat and added a special touch to the experience. The only downside was the shower, which could have been cleaner. Overall, a lovely place to relax with just a small area for improvement.

    We were delighted with such a magical view from our balcony and terrace of the villa. The room was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. You need to check the schedule of buses, ferries and supermarkets in advance, as everything closes very early in this area. We enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the city. We dream of coming back for a whole month))

    This town, right next to Varenna, was thee best location to stay. We could hop on a ferry every hour or more to Bellagio or Menaggio and be there in 15 minutes. But our town was the best to be our base location.

    Perledo was a fantastic place to stay.It is about 15minutes downhill from Verenna if you want to catch a ferry.The walk back up the hill you need to be fit it’s steep.Perledo has lovely local restaurants to go to and it’s all fresh produce which I loved.Great walks in Perledo and lots to explore and the view over the lake is amazing.You have to stay in Perledo there is so much to see.

    This a great place up in the village above Varenna. Rita was an amazing host. When our train was late, Rita organised pizzas for us for our arrival which was such a helpful thought and helped ensure we had a lift up to the hotel from the train station. We loved having breakfast sat outside in the lovely quiet courtyard. We got a great nights sleep as it is such a lovely, quiet area. Overall it is a great place with a super amazing host and we had such a great time there!

    We loved everything about this property. Serena greeted us warmly and provided us with a lot of information and a genuine offer of assistance. The room was over two levels, was extremely clean, spacious and the kitchen facilities, including the cafeteria, were all perfect for our stay. The area was very peaceful and we enjoyed our walk into Perledo. We hope to visit Serena and Agriturismo again one day.

    The place has an amazing view on the lake. You can reach the city center by foot quite easily, but it is a rather steep climb. Otherwise, a. bus is going back and forth in between Perledo and Varenna but I am not sure where to take it. Regarding the place in itself, it is very calm and comfortable.

    The most Spartan hotel we ever stayed. We knew before that we couldn’t expect much more, so no complaints. Not all electricity points worked, that was a pity. But: the receptionist was really kind.
