This property is brand new. There are still a few items that need to be completed at the property however, they do not impact your stay. The room was lovely, the breakfast was perfect, the location is fantastic. We would absolutely stay here again.

I have been to Perugia many times, and stayed in many hotels. Hotel Morlacchi was a unique experience. It is a historic hotel in a great location but the best thing about it is the charming and unforgettable father + son duo that run it. They personally care for their guests and make them feel at home (above and beyond expectations). I will be recommending it to all of my friends and colleagues in the future, saying that they should book early because they'll be lucky to stay here.

FAQs about hotels in Perugia

Undulating Uniqueness

The ancient Etrurian city of Perugia forms a unique and romantic pattern, and is surrounded by green hills. Take the escalators, go up to the Rocca, and admire the panorama of juxtaposed layers of churches and ‘palazzi’ built during thousands of years. Perugia’s Old Town still houses several hotels and restaurants that are centuries old.

The city has a vibrant cultural life and is home to several important institutions, such as the renowned local university, the University for Foreigners, and other institutes. The International Journalism Festival, the Umbria Jazz, and the Eurochocolate Festival are major annual activities. Check the hotel availability in advance if you’re planning to visit Italy and Perugia around those dates.

Don’t miss the remains of the Rocca Paolina fortress and its underground medieval streets. Regarded as one of Italy's best buildings, Palazzo dei Priori encompasses the Collegio del Cambio, Collegio della Mercanzia, and the National Gallery. Trasimeno Lake is 22 km away.

Fontivegge Railway Station is outside the city centre, while San Egidio Airport is 12 km away. Whether you need a 5-star hotel or a historic guest house, check out the deals for Perugia accommodation on Booking.com!

Beautiful medieval hill town with a dynamic contemporary energy centred around the universities. Exceptional history tours, walks to fascinating historical sites through the town, reasonable restaurants and bars. Good hub for day trips to other smaller villages in the Umbria region.

The city is spectacularly located on top of a hill, with impressive Etruscan and Roman architecture on top of which medieval and Renaissance additions bring charm to a typically Italian town. The uphill historical center is well connected with the larger lower town by busses and a funny mini-metro which runs every two minutes. There are eateries everywhere, for all the tastes and pockets. Chocolate is the star of Perugia, with many colorful and sweets shops. Lots of tourist attractions to enjoy: architecture, museums, cathedral, churches, underground structures.

Perugia is a beautiful city - very vibrant with lots of students. I loved walking around and took loads of photos of quaint streets, incredible interiors of the cultural sites and the views across the hills - especially at sunset. Highly recommend the Osteria al Priori to eat - I went twice! You need to book as it is popular. Also recommend Cantalione restaurant. Assisi, Spello and Spoleto are all close by train and each is worth a day's visit. I felt totally comfortable as a woman travelling on my own in Perugia and surrounding towns.

Perugia is a somewhat hidden gem and not always included in the international travellers' itinerary. This is a mistake. It has much to offer and there are very few international tourists crowding out the place, unlike so many other Italian small cities and towns. It is also very good value for money and has some very interesting and unusual features. The restaurants are very good and represent better value for money than other places in Italy. If you are traveling in Umria/Tuscany then it is well worth including in your itinerary.

Like so many towns in Umbria, Perugia has a charming Hilltop old town. Unlike many charming towns throughout Italy, it was not overrun with tourists - actually quite the opposite. Worth at least 2 days to thoroughly enjoy the old town.

The city is wonderful but you will need a car to get around some of the sattelite towns such as Montefalco or Todi. Other towns like Assisi and Foligno are accessable by train. You will need to pre book wine tours out of town.

If you are lucky enough, and this apartment is available - grab it! Only 15 minutes drive from the historic center of Perugia, the apartment offers a comfortable and luxurious space, with 2 large bedrooms, a spacious public space, stunning interior design and a fully equipped kitchen. Breathtaking views from the balcony! Someone really thought of all the small details. Perhaps the best place we stayed in during our long stay in Italy.

The location of the Hotel Fortuna and its historical setting were exceptional. Perugia is a very hilly city; fortunately the hotel is at the very top, just metres from the Piazza Italia and a couple of minutes by foot to the museums, the cathedral, bars and restaurants. Perugia is magical - and the Fortuna was ideally positioned to help us make the most of the magic with little effort. The staff were very helpful, too.

Review for Sangallo Palace Hotel I recently stayed at the Sangallo Palace in Perugia, a four-star hotel with a fantastic central location. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel's proximity to local attractions and transport links made it a convenient base for exploring the area.
