Riomaggiore is a gorgeous village and a part of the important heritage that is Cinque Terre. The history is one of taming the harsh conditions including creating terraces and buildings in a tough environment. The region is hilly and there are numerous steps required to navigate the villages and dwellings. These are a part of the Cinque Terre experience. The hiking and walking trails provide for great rewards with exceptional views of the coast. I loved hiking fron Riomaggiore to Manarola! Via Beccara hike was a climb killer, but i loved it! Seafood was fresh! And water activities were fun, a bit chilly to be in the water in October, but it was still fun! Riomaggiore is a vibrant town. Loved being outside at night with the restaurant sounds and bars playing music. It felt safe to walk around on my own. Enjoyed the harbor view and proximity to boat rental and tours. Beach was nice and small and not too crowded. Ferry is right there, too. The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion. Plenty of restaurants to choose from or takeways to sit in the harbour and eat plus bars. No cover charges like the other resorts we visited. Great atmosphere. The Cinque Terre is overpriced in general not just for food/drink but also the tourist tax/ train tickets/ walking trails etc. but as long as you know this it is a lovely place so you need to tick the area off your listGuest review byCaroline - 10.0

It was good to stay at one end of the string of five towns, take the ferry to the other end, and work our way back. Riomaggiore seemed to have more dining options than the other towns except for Monterroso, and wasn't too costly.Guest review byAnonymous

The view of the Ligurian sea from our room is spectacular! You can take the shuttle bus to take you to Riomagiorre and back, just right in front of the hotel and costs €2,50 per person per way. You can take the train from Riomaggioree and visit all villages if you like. Restaurant is only open during breakfast. If you wish to have dinner, you’ll have to go to Riomaggiore or La Spezia.. The apartment is very charming and the terrace is the best corner of the house. Everything spottles and with all facilities to make you feel like home. Our host Alessandro was very nice, he gave us very good tips for our stay in Riomaggiore and the cinque Terre. He was very attentative and even let us leave later than expected.
